SVGames SUCKS!

One question: do you HAVE to download the files in a split format, or can you download them as one file? If I order anything from SVGames, I have a cable modem at home, and this answer would likely affect my decision.

It's a bit a clunky system sincerely. I would just have them be a single huge file and tell people to use getright or something. Or at least, in the post-purchase page where you download the .1 file, they should give a link to the .2 and subsequent files.

I agree. When I finally found they other "links" on the first page they were not even highlighted, underlined or anything. You wouldnt have even thought they were download links if you dont happen to put your mouse over them.

From SVgames you have no option. I haven't checked to see if RPGnow does it differently.

So perhaps the thread ought to be renamed something a little less inflammatory? "SVGames CONFUSING!!" perhaps?

Just trying to keep things friendly. :)

You have to get them split. I see no option anywhere to download them as a single file.

I dont know.

This doesnt change the fact that the first product I ordered from them was completely useless.

So with two purchases I had:

First : Complete waste of money

Second: Very poorly organized product delivery

To some degree you may be shooting the messenger. SVgames is just a vendor, AFAIK. I believe Bastion Press is responsible for doing the scans for ESDs

The corrupted file might be a problem with SVgames, however.

You can post queries about the ESDs at the mortality.net forums in Bastion Press's section.

There are some ESD problems but I've always got them solved eventually. I agree, however, that sometimes the maps are scanned in a poor fashion.

Try emailing SVgames about the corrupted file. They have always answered my queries.

As an FYI, Bastion Press stopped doing the ESD scanning a long time back now. Not sure who is doing it currently for WOTC products but I am 100% it is no longer Bastion.

I purchaced the Die, Vecna Die from them and It worked out great. By breaking out the download into parts it makes it much easier for people on slow downloads. IMHO the winsplit its smart business.

As for your comments on the other product. SVgames doesn't make the electronic downloads, they just sell them. Bastion press is trying to get a hold of all TSR products, but sometime the only ones they can get are fairly damaged ones.
