What would make a good compensation for losing the animal companion for a ranger? I've got a player interested in doing so, and I'm trying to come up with options.
The PC is a dwarf, who is not much into the spellcasting elements of the class. I was thinking of giving him fast movement, but I don't think that would be enough.
Any other ideas? Things from published sources, or not is fine...
