OOC: looks like if I aim for approximately the corner between the door and Faxon, I can hit Faxon and the door I don't know is shut? I believe I need to hit the wall to halve the blast to not get myself?

[sblock=upstairs] Randlay's body jolts as the negative energy flows through him (13 points of damage). As soon as the wave passes him, he snorts and grins toothily as the negative energy washes over him. The crusader steps out from behind the column, offering direct line of sight to the female cultist. "Hey, you tickled me. Well, I tickle too!" With amazing speed he squeezes off four shorts with his crossbow, and whether it is skill, luck, or divine providence, they all bury themselves in their mark: shoulder, chest, stomach, head. The female cultist is bleeding severely and falls to the floor unconscious.

Denir knows this feeling of negative energy all too well and shudders as it washes over him (13 points of damage). Denir smiles "Yeah I know that trick too" Denir draws his weapon (swift action to cast Bull's Strength, 1 use of Fervor) as he crosses over towards Delgan the Rapist. (J7)
"Hey Delgan, let me give YOU a new god to worship. A god of iron."
As Denir swings his sacred weapon at Delgan and it opens a good wound but he is far from down. Delgan looks down to see his guts and his face is visibly shaken.

Sir Sheldon -Sir Sheldon shrugs off most of the negative energy (4 pts damage), it slipping off him as tendrils of smoke recoiling with pain from getting near the warrior of good. He leans back to get a proper stance after most of his attacks bounced off his opponent's armor. The Paladin smiles as he adjusts his balance. He was happy. Happy to bring the fight to the cultists. Cling! clang! his gambit of force over accuracy is not working, He will have to re adjust his tactics.


Isolde - Also feels the nausea of the negative energy wash over her but it leaves her quickly (9 points of damage) She quickly casts a prayer spell and as she carefully positioned herself, all of the party is within the spells 40' radius (http://paizo.com/prd/spells/prayer.html

Thorn reels for a moment under the assault of infernal power, taken off-guard as she tried to pay attention downstairs (19 points of damage). That has a small reward though, because she hears the dull, muffled THOOM of a detonation down there behind the heavy doors Faxon closed and locked behind him. She knows the sound of one of Meliara's fireballs! Leaving the battle upstairs to her fellows for now, Thorn hurries downstairs as fast as she can go and prepares her tools. She'd have to work fast if she was going to help! She ends her run and is a little suprised to find Isolde has beaten her down here.


Keva being as far from the actual combat area as possible, only takes (4 points of damage from the negative energy)

Banaq - Shrugs off the negative energy (9pts) and let's go with two lightning bolts of his own. Saves for first (reflex save for Banaq's first lightning bolt (1d20+1=10, 1d20+1=11)) so that one does 21 points. Save for second (reflex save for Banaq's second lightning bolt (1d20+1=14)) so he takes full damage from that one too. The second bolt freezes his muscles and he stands shuddering for what seems like 5 seconds before he falls prone on the floor

Round two on tap, only Keva beat the cultist so he may act.[/sblock]


[sblock=downstairs] Meliara points to the area between Faxon and the door and a pea sized light quickly moves from her finger to the wall at L-10. It erupts into a massive fireball engulfing the door and Faxon. There is virtually no pressure from the impact but the heat is intense. One the explosion dissipates, it is clear Faxon and the door are on fire. (reflex save (1d20+7=11). He looks at himself for a second and you think you see panic in his eyes.
Through his burning flesh you see his hands move from his body as if he took something from his pocket and then they move as a spellcaster often does. His lips seem to utter something though the sound of crackling fire around his body drown it out. Soon a 30' cone of cold envelops you doing (Dragon's breath attack on Mel (1d6=6, 1d6=5, 1d6=5, 1d6=3, 1d6=3, 1d6=4, 1d6=4, 1d6=5, 1d6=4))=39 points. Reflex save for half DC 18

No. Lia is very cold! 46-39= 7HP. Lia does have 5 points of cold resistance, do I take that off or did you take it off already? If not, 12HP left.

Now that the door is on fire, does she finally notice it's closed and locked? Or at least closed? lol Also, meta gaming - sorry!! lol -now that Thorn is in my scene downstairs is she before me in initiative? Or would I not know that? Just trying to figure out what to do... go offensive or defensive... and don't want to spend hours figuring out how not to die if the DM's present an elegant solution in the form of an open door. ;-)

OOC: You take the cold resistance off. So you aren't quite as dead as we'd hoped. But hey its early yet. Lia is quite aware now that the door is closed. I don't think she would know it is locked. Distantly in the quiet between the blast of fire and roar of freezing dragon breath you hear the clash of arms above. We have established that Open Lock is a full round action, so even if Thorn gets the door open on round two it will happen at the very end of the round after both Lia and Faxon have acted.[/sblock]
