Swordmage Mirror Blade Army

ok, this is something that doesnt make sense to me, the swordmage glamor blade daily attack power allows me to create a duplicate of myself that clearly states its alloted actions come from my action pool that we share hitpoints, that makes sense...but the swordmage lvl 29 daily mirror blade army states that i create a number of mirror images of myself equal to my consitution modifier and it says that i can make attacks including oppertunity attacks as if i occupied the same space as a mirror image. and it also says they can be attacked and have my defenses resistances immunities etc, and have 1 hitpoint and a missed attack never damages them...so my question is are they considered minions that act in iniative order after me, or do they just stand there and all i can do is attack through them? the power is unclear if they act on their own after me or not...just need some clarifcation there...thanks guys.

They're conjurations, not creatures.

Conjurations can't take actions unless the power that created them says they can.

In this case, what it says is that you can make attacks through them.

So...that's how it works. They can't take actions (or move, unless you use an attack power that makes them move) at all, but you can makes attacks through them.

Unlike Glamor Blade, they don't make you take double damage from area attacks. Glamor Blade turned out to be pretty suicidal that way.

Yeah... but you didn't really use Glamor Blade against AoE monsters. Powers that are suicidal are only such when you use them wrong.

Well, one may not know a given monster has an area power until it uses it... or you may not know that a given AoE-ing monster is there until it reveals itself by dropping a can of whoop-donky on you.

As such, Glamor Blade seems like it could potentially be a "buyer beware" power, where you use it in what seems like optimal situations only to find that they are anything but.

Um.. How many DMs reveal in advance what attacks his monsters have?

The ones that allow Monster Knowledge checks. My character specilises in being the encyclopia of monsters - and we do it as if I get the necessary check score I find out if the monster has AoEs and what its general tendency is (AoE/Ranged/Melee).

Not any more. It's clarified you don't get affected by the same effect twice; if an effect targets you and the Blade, it only affects you once.
