Thanks for the summary. It is still completely baffling to me. You don't like Matt's "spin" on the rules? Pick a different version or, better still, do one yourself. Do you want to play it exactly as it was? Buy the PDF of the original.

I find this really interested. I've interviewed Matt a couple of times, and one of the things he's stressed both times is how he's attempted to remain faithful to the original rules.
 

I'm probably missing the context, but couldn't they just ignore those people?
If I remember correctly, Matt's Dad may have recently passed, and they are dealing with other real-life issues and just don't have the bandwidth for this right now.

I don't think people realize how much money there is to be made in the OSR. And that makes some people behave like jerks, either out of jealousy or greed or both.

I'm a niche vanity press, and I make enough each month to pay for RPG PDFs and/or crowdfunding campaigns.
