[SWRPG] Revised Core Rules: Buy it?

Will you buy the revised core rules for SWRPG?

  • No, I won't, I'll download any available revisions

The revised core rules are coming out. I'm still not clear on whether the revisions to the original core rules will be available on the website or not. I'm not expecting the new material to be available, mind you.

So, who'll buy the revised core rules?

Me, I say, "I'll download the revisions." If they decide to NOT make available the revisions, then I choose "Then I'll visit Kinko's!" (Okay, I'm a little bitter about all the crap I've bought from TSR and WOTC....)

I never bought the original edition so I will buy the revised edition. I don't give a crap about Episode II material (Episode I was bad enough), but I want the new improved rules.

Of course, if I had previously bought the SWRPG, I would be pissed they hadn't fixed it before they released it... It is an expensive book!

Yes, I will buy it mainly for the new rules and correction...

That's the only "YES" answer with the only reason for it?

Puh-lease.

Since there is no sign of a second printing of the original CR, one would welcome this RCR that includes errata corrections.

Of course, if I do not agree with the rules, I'll stick with the original.

Oh, sadly yes!

I will buy it... I won't be happy about it, not at all, but I will buy it. I want these new rules... :(

There doesn't seem to be an option for 'I don't own the original d20 Star Wars, but will buy the revised edition.' I was thinking about picking up the game when it became widely known that they were doing a Revised Edition, so I'm waiting.

I'll buy it, but I'm not real thrilled about it. They are including enough material from the sourcebooks and new rules that I think its worth buying... but I grind my teeth when I think of buying what is essentially the same game twice.

Oh... I could care less about the Episode 2 material.

I hear tell that, aside from the new material, they're dumping in the revisions to the core rules (which should have, I believe, been errata), as well as portions of the Alien Anthology, Dark Side sourcebook, and the revised starship rules (published in Star Wars Gamer # 9, I believe). So pretty much, most of the book consists of errata and reprints. Grrrrr.....

I wonder if amazon.com is going to recommend this for me. If they do, they have a policy of allowing returns if it turns out to be not what I want. Kinko's, anyone?

(And, no, I'm not interested in the new rules for Ep. 2. Attack of the Clones? Puh-leaze!)

Sorry about the sparseness of voting options, they were the options that applied to my case..... :(

And pray tell, what rules derived from Episode II do you NOT like? Cite them.

I have no idea what the rules derived from Episode II will consist of, so I can't say I don't like them. I just... don't care.

Personally, I use the Star Wars book for a generic SF setting. More detail on specifically on the SW setting doesn't interest me.
