SX:1 Help Wanted: Exterminators (Velmont Judging)-Completed

Help Wanted Reloaded: Redux

Recap of last round said:
Toad and Roughneck turn their heads to watch the flight of the beam from the cannon on the tripod. To their alarm, Gun Monkey is picked off in mid-air. He falls to the ground in a smoldering heap, not moving. Pandora is still a fair distance off, but throws the first of the concrete blocks. The block hits several of the bugs but only one is destroyed. It seems to her that if the blocks were thicker they might be more effective.

Elsewhere… Spirit tries to take over the mad genius’ mind again, but is easily repelled. He’s beginning to think that Dr. Null’s mind might be a little too powerful for him to take over. As he begins to leave the cockpit of the tripod, an electrical hum fills the air. Amazingly, for perhaps the first time since his transformation into Spirit, he feels an electrical surge through his incorporeal being.

Toad makes his leap over the army of bots. Six of bugs fire blasts at the two heroes as they pass overhead. Four of the blasts miss, but one connects on Toad. He drops Roughneck and comes to a rough rolling stop at the base of the tripod walker. Roughneck is also hit. He feels a burning pain just before he’s dropped roughly to the ground. Four bugs are between him and Toad. Forty are now behind him. He feels a little less confident about the course of action they have taken as about half of the robots turn to face him and the acrobatic Toad.

Body sees the simian hit the deck, and realizes he’s hurt badly.

OCC: GM is staggered for two rounds. Roughneck is bruised. Spirit is bruised (creator of the game built in that trick for the good doctor). Sorry I”ve been neglecting the game. The good news is that I’m back from vacation. Other than a few weekends here and there I’ll be around to keep everything going. Now that we are down to the showdown with Null (don’t forget the army of bots) I’m hoping we can push through to the end.

Pandora throws another smaller, but thicker slab. Five of the bots are crushed beneath the denser slabs. Body manages to cover half the distance towards the fallen primate gunslinger, who shakes his head to clear the cobwebs. Roughneck bullrushes the nearest bot, grabbing the "bug" by its mandibles, and twists the head in a ninety degree angle, dropping the robot with a sickening metallic thud. Toad unleashes a vicious kick, but misses his target. Roughneck looks up to see the cockpit of the tripod go dark, obscuring the mad genius. Seven of the bugs attack Toad and Roughneck. The acrobabtic Toad performs a series of leaps and flips to avoid the shots. One manages to hit him, but he rolls with the damage. Roughneck deals with the onslaught in his own way. Of the three flame tongues only one hits the large man. He takes the blast full on, but manages to not be hurt.

OOC: Lets try this again. Done with the fire (95 hours of overtime in two weeks). Should be smooth sailing until the end.

Getting up there is going to be fun. Roughneck thought to himself while craning his neck to look up. He launched an elbow into another Bug, trying to move the momentum of the battle closer to the Tripod.

Attack a Bug in melee. Aggressive Stance, All-out/Power Attack for 5. Move towards tripod

OOC: Just wanted to clarify, GM would have had to spend a move action to get up last round (which I would rule as having happened). He could take a move action this round

GM, not feeling right, grabs his guns and wobles slowly towards Dr. Null defiantly, teeth barred.

OOC: Move half speed = wobles ;)

OOC: Waiting to hear from Pandora before next round. If she's going to keep going with dropping concrete blocks until she destroys most of the bots I'll do that for the next few rounds. Does Gun Monkey want to head towards Null or Body?
