SX:3 From the Bowels of Philadelphia (Hero For Hire Judging)

Just for clarification, the entry into the bay was an open arch so we were able to see the robot activate?

OOC: YEAH YEAH, WHAT HE SAID. I kind of blew that one. :o Waiting for Intrepid.

The heroes are able to see the large robot run forward after the seeming untouchable shape of Ghost as it reels back from the blow. They are 60 feet away.

"Ghost!" shouts Intrepid, running forward to help his fallen friend. Fear of losing a teammate presses him forward, and without much thought, Intrepid sends a powerful blast of Psychokinetic force toward the robot.

[sblock=OOC] Intrepid uses extra effort to gain the Alternate Power: Blast 10 (Ranged Attack Bonus +8, DC 25). And spends a Hero Point to counter Fatigue.

Aquaphibian's words echo in Ghost's head as the robot comes to life and hammers him. The image of Spirit being affected by Null's tripod flashes before his eyes, or maybe that's the stars.

OOC: Ghost is stunned.

Ghost, says "Argggggh"

OOC:

Just out of curiosity... Not that it matters at this point, but it detected ghost though his steath of DC 30? He has been stealthing / 'hide in plain sighting' for a while now. If so great, need to know it, if not then just go with ghost getting all excited and having forgot to do his stealth thing. I will remebr to add it to every post ;-) and it gets some others doing stuff.

How about laying down a plan like I go inside the robot and disassemble it with TK,

OOC: The robot detected you once you tried to enter it. Since it could affect insubstantial, it was able to attack and hit. I probably didn't make it clear enough. I've been trying to keep a flow of action even though I've been kind of busy lately, so some of my posts have been a little sloppy.

The heroes move in, attacking the robot. Twilight Gryphon atacks first, ripping into the mechanical menace with her powerful claws. Somehow the robot manages to ward off Intrepid's psychic blast. Wild Mask leaps forward laying into the robot with a powerful roundhouse to the midsection. Aquaphibian moves in with a flying tackle knocking down the robot and causing sparks to fly. As the heroes regroup for their next attack they here the unmistakable sound of a series of doors slamming shut.

OOC: Everyone hit but Intrepid. Next round.

At the sound of doors slamming shut, Intrepid thinks, This can't be good. To the others, he shouts, "We need to take this thing down. Quick! I have a feeling things are about to get worse."

Intrepid sends another powerful blast of Psychokinetic Force hurtling toward the mechanical menace harrying his teammates.

[sblock=OOC]Intrepid has his Force Field raised (Toughness +10). The Extra Effort AP lasts for the duration of the encounter, so I'll continue to use that.
Blast (1d20+8=10) (crappy rolls) ;)[/sblock]

Twilight Gryphon makes another pass at the robot, ending her arc near Ghost, "Are you okay?" she asks.

Attack 13
Eesh, this isn't a good round for us

Not sure how to work together just yet, the team stumbles in a rush to finish off the bot. Wild mask manages to land his kick to the head. The sputtering robot isn't able to respond other than standing.

OOC: Next round Y'all

"Everybody, hit it all at once! Let's take this thing down!"

OOC: Since Salix prompted, I say we give the ol' Combined Attack a shot. We delay our attacks until Aquaphibian's Initiative. All roll for Attack. For each hit with a DC within 5 of the highest DC that hits, add an additional +2 to that DC.

Either way, combined attack or no, Intrepid All-Out Attacks for +5 with his Psychokinetic Blast 10 (DC 25). Intrepid's Defense drops to 12 (17-5=12)
All-Out Blast Attack (1d20+8+5=22)
