System Matters (The Grand Experiment)

I can build a GURPS character in about 30 minutes, and a Hero character in about 45. Ditto my players, so that won't be a problem when/if I get around to running a generic battery.

Ah...Ok- then you and your players are experienced in the systems...that helps a great deal.

For the record, I could probably do a D&D PC in HERO in 40 minutes...without the book! Its my favorite system.

Just a time saving suggestion, though...use the power of ENWorld to help you do the pregen PC design for the systems you plan on testing.

That is, design the PCs in the first system you plan on running them in, then post them (1PC/thread). Example:

Thread #1 "Here is a Human Fighter from Dungeons & Dragons (1976 Holmes Basic)- I need a Magic World, Castles & Crusades, Advanced Fighting Fantasy, The Fantasy Trip, and an Ars Magica 5th version of him."

Thread #2 "Here is an Elf Wizard from Dungeons & Dragons (1976 Holmes Basic)- I need a Magic World, Castles & Crusades, Advanced Fighting Fantasy, The Fantasy Trip, and an Ars Magica 5th version of her."

and so forth.

Or:

Thread #1 "Here is a Party of adventurers from Dungeons & Dragons (1976 Holmes Basic)- I need a Magic World version of these PCs."

Thread #2 "Here is a Human Fighter from Dungeons & Dragons (1976 Holmes Basic)- I need a Castles & Crusades version of these PCs."
You could even include those systems you're considering down the line, like GURPS or HERO.

It could be both fun and enlightening.
