Just a passing thought, but maybe the reason tyrannosaurus rex did not need more powerful paws was because it breathed fire...
for spell casting.
Dude, analysis of the bone formation and muscular attachments suggests each of those "tiny arms" could curl something like 430 pounds. They are small only relative to the rest of its body - the thing still had the strength to rip your arm out of its socket.
I'm going to be introducing an awakened tyrannosaur druid in my Everton campaign. Potentially she'll be a T-Rex who can wildshape into another T-Rex.for spell casting.
"Alright! What brain surgeon taught the T-rex necromancy? Now we don't need a darn meteor, we've got a dino-zombie apocalypse on our hands."
It's really not that big of a deal. Everyone knows the T-Rex can't properly target their spells if the PCs stay in one square.
And when they are hungry again, Reincarnate.Necromancy. First, they eat the good bits, then they animate the corpse. Which means it now has, like, a herd of brontosaurus zombies stomping on your head. Who cares about targeting at that point?
