T3 reviews coming in

ycore...

wow, ive never been called on the spoiler mat before and i almost always see big movies opening weekend. matter of fact, im usually pretty anal in making sure what people have watched/read and letting them know what i havent watched/read yet so we dont spoil ANYTHING no matter how old or silly.

**** i will put a spoiler warning even though im still not gonna tell you what actually happens, just list a lot fo things that DONT happen.

what did i spoil? i cut out one possible ending, the boy and girl unite to stop the terminatrix, stop skynet thus preventing the war from happening again, and kiss as the credits roll
(also known as the happy hollywood ending)
there are still a thousand different ways the movie can end.
everyone dying, everyone but john dying, john dying and the machines taking over with no clue what would happen next, arnold turning on john, kate turning on john, and other possibilities i'm not even fathoming. and i obviously still havent said what DID happen. i didn't think it necessary to completely avoid raving about the ending as a previous post had already mentioned there was a "twist ending" . (i knew there was a twist ending when i saw sixth sense, and knowing it helped me figure it out, BUT it didnt spoil the movie) to me twist ending implies "not what you were expecting" so me re-stating that as "not a hollywood happy ending" didnt seem to be a spoiler.
and obviously my loving the ending is completely subjective, as apparently ive learned from this thread, so is comedy, time, the sun rising, death and taxes.

*** end reverse-spoilers

i apologize if you thought i ruined something, but i dont really see it. i personally never read threads about movies until i see the movie anyway because you never know when someone is REALLY gonna spoil something (usually discusinng who dies), and i would always suggest that others do the same whether the entire thread is labeled spoiler or not.

Bah, and I was going to refrain from making any condescending points. Alzrius, I apologize for my tone up above, and hope I didn't offend you.

Apology accepted. I'm sorry too. Let's just forget it happened.

Funny, but still doesn't really address the central paradox of the films. Judgment day and John Connor's eventual success as leader of the resistance, et cetera, are all already facts prior to the time-travel in T1. The only reason for time-travel in T1 is to prevent John Connor's success. Remove John Connor's success, and the time-travel never occurs. But if there the time-travel never occurs, John Connor's success cannot be prevented. One fact (John Connor's success) cannot be changed without negating another fact (the time-travel mission that prevented John Connor's success).

This is the fundamental "flaw" in many time-travel stories.

Correct. It's a different way of painting the old "kill your father" time travel routine. The way that one goes is: If you go back in time, and accidently kill your father...then how would you ever be born to go back in time and kill him in the first place?

This is one of the most-often things you run into in change-the-future time travel stories - changing the future removes your basis for ever travelling back in time to change it to begin with. That isn't really a flaw, its just one of the primary temporal paradoxes that you run into where time travel is concerned.

In this regard though, I thought T3 coped with that quite well with the premise it offered. I would say more, but that'd be too spoiler-filled. :D

Awesome flick! I was disapointied with the 2nd one

1) They didnt use a lot of CGI, so the special effects kick booty and don't overpower you. Most movies now days use so much CGI the effects come off looking fake.

2) I liked the John Conner in this one.....

3) The ending was great....

4) I didnt notice any plot holes.......which is always a plus

5) I think having a new director helped this series a lot, gave it some new life.
