- So What Is a Subclass? by Mike Mearls -- This week, Mike explores the topic of subclasses and the role they play in the game.

- Pelgrane Press has posted its current playtesting opportunities for Trail of Cthulhu and 13th Age. They're also putting together a 13th Age Organized Play program and want help choosing a name for it.
- Aces & Apes, from Hex Games, has WWI flying aces and intelligent apes. "Aces & Apes is a game of thrilling aerial escapades designed for use with the QAGS Second Edition rules. The game includes rules for a wide variety of PC types (orangutan, gorilla, chimpanzee, bonobo, and even human), historical background, rules for biplanes and dogfights, the sample adventure “Masque of the Black Death,” and much more."

- Monte Cook talks more about Numenera - specifically about adventures. "There’s a well-accepted “truism” in the tabletop industry nowadays: Adventures don’t sell. There’s only one problem with this bit of truth–it’s not true at all. Many, if not most, of the bestselling tabletop products of all time are adventures–Keep on the Borderlands, Ravenloft, etc." He goes on to explain his plans for adventure support in the Numenera RPG.

- I missed this - Dave Noonan (who used to write for D&D) wrote about "The Power of Subtractive Design" in which he talks about how less can be more. "I’m part of a worldbuilding collaboration at the moment, and we’re getting significant mileage out of the power of subtraction: taking some things out of the world so that other things have more room to flourish. Seems obvious when you type the sentence, but it’s so easy to forget."
- The latest article in The Kyngdoms' exploration of the city of Blackfen continues with a look into arcane magic, the arcanist guild and the Longstaff Wizards.
- Sly Flourish has compiled a list of great miniature painting resources. Especially useful to those who are receiving their Reaper Bones miniature Kickstarter rewards!
