The Swedish sci-fi RPG of 1980s suburbia, Tales from the Loop, is currently free in PDF format on DTRPG - but only for today, so be quick! "To celebrate the release of the OUT OF TIME campaign module, the digital version of our multiple award-winning TALES FROM THE LOOP core game is now completely FREE for ONE DAY at DrivethruRPG"

If nothing else, based on the art excerpts from this review, I'm going to check it out simply for the visual aesthetic.

(I assume it isn't actually in Swedish, right?)

This version is in English and it's won many awards! :)

Woohooo. I just bought this book 2 weeks ago. I love this dice pool system too. So easy. It is the same as Mutant:YearZero and Coriolis (which I have adapted to use with Star Wars if anyone is interested.

Alien is the same basic system, but each game has subtle differences.

I've looked through many of them. I'm bought in on Alien - the cinematic adventure preview was brilliant to play. Just enough details for me to use, not too many. Waiting for the print and final PDF.

Coriolis looks VERY interesting. The free quickstart gives a very Chronicles of Riddick look...

I've read a bit of MYZ, enough to know that the dice types differ from game to game... as do the damage rules. Alien has separate Hit Points, TFL has attribute loss, as does MYZ, and Forbidden Lands.

(I've been reading all the QS modules. I'm annoyed I missed the Coriolis bundle on Bundle of Holding.) And, as of now, it's back to normal price.

Late on the uptake, but interesting enough, this is still free, a couple of days after the "one day".
So others may still want to take a look because you might not just have missed out.
