Talislanta...conversions? opinions?

I was reading through the Talislanta 4th edition book and was amazed by both the game mechanics (which 3e seems to have "borrowed" from in some aspects) and the amazing flavor. it just seemed perfect in that there is no excess of information but just enough to tantalize the imagination.

I was considering using stuff from it for a campaign. Has anyone done this?

We have played Talislanta 4th and it's really a cool system, but it's aimed for a more experienced audience clearly, as the rules give so much leeway (unlike D&D, where most actions are well-defined).

Its simpleness is what makes Talislanta a great game really. Not much hassle with rules issues and a very flavorful background as well without the usual stereotypes.

I love Tal, and one day I'd like to run a campaign there. I've borrowed lots of flavor ideas from there for my own setting, and the magic system has helped inspire the revisions to Elements of Magic.

I don't know if it's necessarily a high-experience game, though. I think its simplicity of design lends itself well to novice gamers and those who don't want to learn tons of rules. Just roll, add modifiers, and check the table. For everything.

But what I like most of all about Talislanta, is the flavor of its magic.
