Racial requirements. Ie.. only Xambrians may be Witch hunters.

To go for the Feel of a Talislanta-D&D hybrid I think the race then Racial Class system would be best. IMHO.

A racial level system like AU is probably best, between 1 to 3 levels to represent more powerful races.

At least you've the time to read, all my time is spent at work.

Isn't Guardians of Order doing a d20 Talislanta? I think it was scheduled for 2003 but got pushed back to 2004. I think it is referenced in their year end thread in the publisher's section. I also think I saw an entry for the book on Amazon.com.

Nope, you're thinking of M.A.R. Barker's Tekumel, of Empire of the Petal Throne fame. And I'm not sure that it will be d20-based.

They are using their Tri-Stat system for Tekumel. Gosh Darn't!!! I was hoping they would do a Tekumel d20 but no such luck.

Well if you all want to we can drop the Avonshar Game in order to Talislanta every few months. I'd be up for it.
I remenber Zad was a Zandir Charlatin, Aethrymyr was a Mandalan Mystic, Val was a Xambrian wizard hunter, Wizardru was a Bandir (?) desert mage, Eric was a Pharasian Pedaler and Step was a Danuvian warior woman i think. Oh... and the most abused by the DM npc was the Thamaturge.

Talislanta & d20

I am thinking about going the other direction. D20 to Tal4.
While I was reading the ruleset and other information dealing with the Tal4 system, I kept imagining converting a old D&D setting so it can be used with Tal4.

I ordered the main rulebook and will probably in the near future will run a campaign using the world as it is. I also hope to run the world of Mystara using the Tal4 rules.

I love the d20 games, those that use the d20 logo as well as ogl products, more than just generic D&D. I currently run an Arcana Unearthed game. I do agree with previous statements that the Arcana Unearthed method of doing racial levels is way better than standard ECL.
