Targeting spells & concealment

Greetings all,

Here is my question: Does the concealment offered by the Blur spell (20% miss chance) affect targeted spells?

Some examples:

1: Wizard1 has the following spell cast on himself, Fly & Blur. Wizard2 wishes to target Wiz1 with a Dispel Magic(Targeted Dispel), Does the miss chance granted to Wiz1 from the Blur spell have any effect in this case?

2: Wizard2 casts Magic Missile at Wizard1 does the Blur affect the magic missole spell?

Anything less than 100% concealment still allows you to target them with a spell.

Does anybody else have anything to say on this topic?

Anybody have any idea if the answer to my question is in the rules somewhere?

Waiting in anticipation.

No.

Blur has no affect on MM since MM strikes unerringly.

Just as Caliban said, anything less than 100% does not provide protection from targeted spells. If you can see'em, you can target'em.

Read up on the rules for Concealment on page 133 of the PHB and on Aiming a Spell on pages 148-150. You shall find the answers you seek therein ;)

PHB, page 148, has the rules targeting spells, and they only say you have see the target.

If the target is concealed or has cover of less than 100%, means that you can still see it, and although you can only parts of the target or the is unclear, you still see it unerringly.

What if a mage has blur cast on himself, and another mage is casting a ranged touch attack. Does the attacking mage then have a 20% chance to miss with the ranged touch attach? that seems more viable to me

That is different somewhat in that, yes, you can target the mage, but you have to roll an attack roll to actually hit him.

Ok, answer me this..... If a mage is invisible, and you don't have see invisibility, can you target the mage with a spell? for example magic missle, or a ranged touch attack like melfs acid arrow? do u get any kind of miss chance?
