Tarrasque question: Why is he invincible?

Yeah, the only problem with the errata is that it makes the Tarrasques current Hit Points nearly irrelevant. The amount of subdual damage needed doesn't change if the Tarrasque is advanced in HD, or if you manage to reduce it's Con.

As Ryan pointed out earlier, they should have set the amount of subdual damage needed to "Current Max HP +30."

LOL!!!!
That was they funniest thing I've read today!!!

Sooo...
Okay let me get this strait.
If he is a "advanced" tarrasque with like 400,000,000,000 hp all I have to do is get it's subdual damage total to 870 points and use a wish to keep it dead.

You couldn't be more right.

Incidentally, the shapechange spell lets you morph into one and keep all the Extraordinary abilities, which is everything except Frightful Presence. So your piddly 5 Con archmage with 20 hp now needs to take 870 damage before he can be wished dead.

Yummy.

Actually the errata is in error :) I received the response from Skip a while back which said +30 subdual.

Maybe the editors at WOTC or something decided that writing "870 subdual" was better than "30 more sudual" for space reasons. :)

Uh, yeah. But what's your point? I said "WotC" because they are the current publishers of the D&D product line. Ya' know, you're not really setting a good example for politeness, seeing as how you're an administrator and all. What's with the rudeness?

No rudeness, just pointing out the Tarrasque is from way back, nothing more.

A nice try, but...

From the SRD:
As polymorph other, except this spell enables the character to assume the form of any single creature of less than deity status (including unique dragon types, or the like) or any single object.

No unique creature types would rule out the Tarrasque. Since, like Highlander "there can be only one." :)

Also, I'm not sure, but the Tarrasque might violate the "200' in any single dimension" rider of the spell -- I don't have its specific size numbers in front of me right now.

Tarrasque is still vulnerable to energy drain and constitution damage. DR is useless against any attacks which do not inflict normal damage. So I think you can kill the thing with a bunch of undeads.

Hammy: let's be blunt. I'm tired of receiving complaints about you. I sent email to all three of your accounts' email addresses (I know you've added at least one since then.) You've chosen to ignore me and continue being rude and disruptive. It's time to stop, now, if you want to continue being a part of these forums. Is that clear enough?

One more rude post, and you're gone. Email me if you'd like to discuss it.

Cross-posted on the Pig thread.

thats pretty funny, since i have only one email account

Then use a horde of Stirges. Those critters are ridiculously good at finding "vulnerable spot" and can sting their proboscis even how hard the target is.
