Tavern - City of Orussus, The Red Dragon Inn '08

Jordan Halfshield Fighter lvl 1

The door opens again as the Red Dragon Inn is finally waking up and it's residents are up and about. A few heads turn to the door, mainly from those seeking employment hoping it's someone with a job offer, but they see noone ahh... the heads swivel down and the see a 3-foot halfling decked out in chain and greaves. His helm has a curious "Y" type section in it's open face and his shield looks like it was sized for a human but then cut right across the center. The halfling is all smiles as he nods to those he passes his armor jingling and his walk like that of a proud rooster. When he reaches the small end of the bar he says," Hello Joe, me mates told me alls about this here in place. They says I was to say hello to you and then order an in drink called The Shoeless Sleepin Halfling. Wells the names Jordan Halfshield and I be takin that drink ifs you please." as he says his name his voices gets a little louder and he raises his shield arm as he says Halfshield." And ifs anyones here bein interested in a rounds of darts I bein glad for the company."

Thanks Trouvere :)

Jordan Halfshield

ooc: I have come up with some rules to play at darts here at the Red Dragon Inn. Where should I post them and should I wait for approval before starting??

A small greasy halfling sporting a pair of improbably large sideburns slips into the Red dragon. His eyes dart fertively to and fro, hearing the tail end of Jordan Halfshield's intorduction, he sidels over to the bar and gives a little bow to Joe and Jordan.

"Dair, thief, good at it."

He announces loudly, visibly uncomfortable as he says it. Turning to his fellow Halfling Dair sneers, though it might have been meant to be a smile.

"Play you at darts. 5 silvers a throw? I'm good, warn you. No take backs."

[sblock=Jerrand]Daith and Jordan are actually pretty evenly matched with darts, dead on if you take away Daith's Point Blank Shot advantage within 30ft. - though Darts is certainly played within 30ft. generally.

How about

AC 25 Treble, miss by 5 or less gets the number.
AC 20 Bull's eye.
AC 18 Hit double, miss by 5 or less hits number.
AC 15 Hit specific number.
AC 10 Hit random number.
AC 8 Hit no score point on board, anything lower misses.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Would like to play but...

1.don't know if we are aloud to gamble especially with an unapproved character (extra money and all)

2. I really don't understand your rules I don't play darts for real lol

How about a warm up game with the following rules:

who goes first- each roll d20 (no modifiers) highest goes first

Play three throws in a round trying to hit three targets.
1.outside ring AC 10
2.inside ring AC 15
3.center ring AC 20
4.bull's eye center instant win

play any number of rounds scoring 1 pt each time you hit all three ACs
so if you play three rounds and hit all three in 2 rounds you get 2pts your opponent needs to hit all three ACs in all three rounds to beat you.

BULL'S EYE: if you score a natural 20 then can confrim it by hitting AC 20 you score a bull's eye and win automaticly that's why it's important to go first could end the game right there[/sblock]

Jordan nods his head to the newcomer."Welcomes Daith," he takes a mug offered by Joe."Thanks Joe. I don't be thinkin Joe liked to have us tusseling over money if it cames to that. How's in bout we shows him what friendly players we is first. And play a couple rounds of Youngins' Tosser?" He takes a sip of the drink and then a gulp." Whoa's that in is good. Hey is this drink blue??" He says perring into the mug." Come on cousin how in's about a warm up game?"

[Sblock=OOC]Well I don't know darts either, I looked it up on wikipedia. It doesn't make sense to me that you hit a Bullseye ona natural 20, a skilled player should hit it more easily than an unskilled one, surely? I man also not keen on a lucky shot ending the game, but I can live with that.[/Sblock]

[sblock=ooc]that's why it's called youngins' tosser because there's more luck than skill but it will make a great warm up keep all your tossing rolls in one post but don't roll it all at once let's build up to the end I'm going to make my roll to see who goes first[/sblock]

Jordan takes a look at the dart board and throws.

[sblock=Youngins' Tosser]
first = 11
2nd toss = 12
3rd toss = 11 [/sblock]

Jordan takes his 2nd toss It also ends up in the outer ring." Look likes I be needed a warm up."

Jordan's third toss is no better than the other two."Well ther always be in round two." he says as he goes to pull the darts out of the board.

ooc: Glad I'm not out trying to fight goblins with these rolls. :D

"Alright I suppose. Warm up it is."

Dair flips a coin calling tails, which it does come up. He steps up for the first toss and nods before flinging his missile.

His dart lodges in the [URLDarts, first throw. (1d20+8=14) ]outside ring[/url] and Dair curses before stepping back. Fortunetly Jordan's aim is no better than his own and he flings again.

The greasy halflings second toss is far better ending up quivering in theDarts 2nd toss. (1d20+8=24) ]center ring.[/url] Dair nods in satisfaction and steps back.

On his final shot the little gnome sneezes and sends the missile soaring erratically to strike the wall some three feet away from the board.

"Sprouts for dinner!" Dair curses angrily.

[sblock=OOC]The power of the nat 1 3rd toss. (1d20+8=9) .[/sblock]

Elthic Bazelmak, Dwarven Rogue(1)/Fighter(1)

The door swings open, and a burly-looking dwarf with a short-cropped beard and two braids dangling from his short black curls enters the room. He has obviously seen battle recently - his clothing is a mess, and the head on the spear thrown over one shoulder has been blunted and shows the faintest hint of blood.

Wearily, he says "Elthic. Bazelmak. Hello, Joe... was it only four days ago that I was here?"

Shaking his head in disbelief, the dwarf trudges over to a table, his leather armour squeaking with every step he takes. His boots squish as he moves, as the rain-sodden dwarf walks. He sits with a sigh of relief.

"Had a fight with a dragon, Joe. It was about the size of a cat... and it got us. Took three of us down, and spared our lives afterwards. Not a fine start for an adventurer, eh?"

He stares in the mug placed before him by a barmaid, and shakes his head, confused.

Xir, Psionic Nomad

Some time after the dwarf, a lithe xeph with very hard features enters. Unlike the dwarf, the stranger's appearance is not "messy" at all. While signs of battle are upon him---fading scars, scuffs on his leathers---everything is straight and neatly arranged.

The xeph walks in two paces, bows towards Joe, and utters in a flat voice, "Xeph. Wanderer. I have fulfilled my pervious obligations and look once again for experience."

That done, the Xeph glances around the room, nodding once at the dwarf. The xeph pauses a moment looking at Elthic, then begins to examine the strange markings on his arms, palms, and hands as if seeking something there.
