Eanos, human monk

"Volidar Stormblade, at your service, and hoping perhaps you can be at mine. Word has reached me through a trusted friend of a party of adventurers in the Stonespike mountains in need of reinforcements. It seems their party has dwindled due to a long journey and pressing engagements elsewhere. Theirs is an errand of some urgency, though my correspondent was somewhat vague on the details. The party is well equipped for melee combat, but would greatly value the services of a student of the arcane, if one is available."

Eanos stands, downing his drink and nodding to those with whom he's kept company.

"I'm afraid I'm just another melee specialist," the monk says, "And the arcane friends I know best have just disappeared. Literally." Here he points to the spot where the teleported party once stood.

"I do believe I encountered a young priest on my way back here from my last quest, though, who might be of help. His magics are divine, of course, but magics they are. If you'll excuse me, I'll see if I can't track him down, or get a message to him through my courier service."

Eanos thus excuses himself, his swift feet carrying him through the town...

[sblock=OOC]Eanos is way to high a level, anyway. But hooray for newly-approved 1st level characters. See next post for his entrance.[/sblock]

Weel Naxel, human cleric

It isn't long before the doors of the tavern open, and a broad-shouldered young man enters. His hair and beard are neatly trimmed, his cloak clean, armor gleaming. He is rather the epitome of the fresh-faced adventurer. When Joe nudges him to introduce himself, the man's smile is instant and gleeful.

"My name, goodfellows, is Weel Naxel, recently-ordained priest of Phyrah." he holds aloft the wooden pendant of a kite shield with its falcon etched painstakingly upon it.

He foregoes drink for the time as his eyes quickly scan the room and alight upon Volidar Stormblade.

"That taciturn monk I met on the road told me you might need some assistance on an adventure? I'd be honored if you would allow me to add the The Searcher's gifts to your endeavor"

Karm, Human Druid (pending approval)

A Tall thin man with a haggard road-worn appearance walks into the bar looking unsure of himself. His grey-flecked, dark brown hair gives him the air of an man approaching middle age though his unlined pale face and unsureness prove that he is quite young.

He is trailed by a full grown wolf who sticks close to his side and eyes the inhabitants of the bar with the same uncertainty that is written on the young man's face.

He murmurs something quietly to Joe then sighs and says in a surprisingly loud voice,

Greetings good people. I am Karm, a simple man of nature. This is Kuma, my companion. Yes she is a wolf, but she's quite tame, when it's appropriate. I have heard that this Red Dragon Inn is a meeting place of those less inclined to comfortable beds and harvesting crops. I have never taken joy in planting things only to kill them nor sleeping on satiny sheets, so I suppose that I am in the right place.

At that he looks back to Joe who hands him a glass of water. He thanks Joe quietly and sniffs the water. Then he cups his hand, fills it with water and gives a sip to Kuma. He drinks deeply from the glass himself and puts the empty glass back on the counter.

[sblock=ooc] Am I too late for bizarre bazaar?[/sblock]

"I'll be back in half an hour. I'll make it very quick." In less time he has told, he come back, wearing a new vest. "Hard bargainer, but I think that will be usefull for us in our next expedition. Weel smiles again, eyes lighting up at the sight of the wolf. "Fascinating. I've never seen someone manage to calm a wolf. Back on the farm we only ever had to scare them off or hun... " Weel appears to think better of what he was saying, and cuts off his babbling to extend a hand to the newcomer.

"Weel Naxel, Phyrah's servant."

Seeing Weel smile at Kuma, Karm laughs a little.

There's no need to worry, Weel. Kuma and I are great fans of hunting. Isn't that right Kuma?

The wolf looks up at Karm, then curls up by the bar, seeming more at ease.

Kuma is not tame, but my friends are his friends.

Karm eyes the cleric's shield,

Well, Weel Naxel, Servant of Phyrah, as I said, I am Karm and I travel where Verdante bids me go.
Karm laughs again, I suppose I must look quite strange, a druid in this great and wealthy hall. I suppose I have come... Well, I don't know, really why. But I am glad to meet you my friend. Will you join me for a glass of wine or a tankard of ale?

Weel nods, clearly relieved he's avoided unintentional offense.

"I'd be honored, Karm. I haven't even had a chance to drink myself. And, honestly, I've only really been from the farm to the temple before this, so I'm just as much a fish out of water as anyone. But what a way to learn to swim, eh?"

Weel stops a second before ordering. "Wait ... if the fish is out of water, it can't very well swim ... ah, you get my meaning, I'm sure."

"Elven rain wine please, Joe" Karm turns back to Weel. "Well, then I suppose we're both land fish, eh? I must confess that those skills that allowed me to remain alive in the wild seem to be of little use here in Orussus. I gather that I shall have to set about finding some sort of employment. I don't suppose that you have had any luck in that regard? I haven't seen many farms about the city so I assume that you are pursuing your sacred vocation, whilest in the city?

Weel nods. "I left the farm behind, and I'm travelling in Phyrah's name alone. A monk I met out on my journey pointed me in the direction of the Inn, telling me there was a quest in need of bolstering, though I haven't learned much more since arriving."

[sblock=OOC]I brought Weel in with interest in Bizarre Bazaar, too. Waiting to hear if he's right for a slot or not.[/sblock]

Ahh, now I begin to see. I am intrigued by this information. I am eager to hear more.

In the meantime though, a toast while you wait for your information. Karm raises his flute of elven rain wine. To The Searcher and The Greenman! I give thanks to the winds that carry our seeds far afield and without which, no plant could flourish. To the unending cycle.
