He shrugs. "You could be the butt of a joke. Though it kinda depends on how you view having come here... if you take it as it is, this is a great place to just hang out. If you're looking for some place more... uh, scholarly, then this ain't the place for ya."

"Like I said, they think I spend too much time in books. So this probably is legitimate, they want to experience the world." says Ned. "And this place certainly iis an experience..."

Ned plucks the dart from the table beside Grak's head, stands up, and throws it at the darboard 20 ft away.

Lets see... a playing dart shouldn't need a proficiency, range increment probably 10 ft, so that's -2 on top of the dex penalty. So, roll to hit, and the total is... 10. I'm guessing the dark hits the board, but doesn't actually score anything

"Hmm... well, at least I hit the board...."

"Thanks Troi", she smiles and looks at the gnome: "Make it something fancy with lots of different stuff in it, but not too much alcohol please."

She looks around at Ned: "Then may I welcome you to the Red Dragon Inn, the start of many an adventure. I'm sorry, but I didn't catch your name. I'm Zoe." she adds, just in case he forgot about that. Don't wanna bring anyone in an embarrasing situation.

"You know, I really don't know. I've been so happy hearing that my training is finally complete, that I haven't thought about what I'm going to do now. It's always been so clear to me, as the priests always decided for me what direction to take. And now I gotta choose it all on my own." Zoe grows silent for a while, appearantly lost in her own thoughts.

"Well, y'know," Troi says, "you donn't have to decide all on your own... after all, you've got friends that would be willing to help out with decisions in your life. Take me, for example." He smiles. "I'm not doin' much... if you need advice, or anything, you can just ask me. I'll be here. And even if I'm not here, you can just put out the word that you're lookin' for me, and where you are, and I'll come." He smiles again. "Just 'cause you're done with your trainin', and nobody's telling you what to do anymore, doesn't mean you're gonna lose your friends to help ya out when you need it. Or even when you don't. Get what I'm sayin'?"

Zoe wakes up from her thoughtbubble and looks back at Troi: "Well, thanks, but, that's not it. You see, with the priests around, I never was allowed to choose for myself. Now I finally can choose what I want to do. You know, in all those 20 years, I've never been out of town. Perhaps now would be a time to travel and see something more than the streets of this city."

"Ah, okay." Troi says. "So that's how it is. Yeah, I know the feeling of wanting to get out and see the world. That's how I wound up here. It may be a good idea for ya to get out there and see things... I know that it was good for me when I did it, though having a friend along would've made things a lot easier. Bein' all alone for a few months, other than the occassional tavern, isn't too great. Y'know, if you wanted, when - if - you leave, I could come with ya. I've been around here for quite awhile, and I wouldn't mind a change in scenery again, get back on the open road... even as much as I love the drinks here, and the people, there are things that still need to be done that can't be done while I'm here..."

[Edit: Mentioning who you're quoting is a good idea in a busy tavern...]

Zoe lets the words flow through her head before looking back at Troi to answer him: "I might very well keep you up to that promise. I'm not sure. I still gotta get used to the situation, this is all so new to me. But I'll sure think about it!"

"Well," Troi says, nodding, "take your time. You're free now, to do as you will. It does take a little getting used to... but when you want to go, feel free to call on me. If I'm not busy - and if the past week is any indication of how 'busy' I'll be, I won't be - then I'll gladly head out with ya."

"Head out? But where to?" Zoe looks a little lost. "I mean, I heard tales and all of lots of places, but I would hardly know what's next door. This is so confusing. I wouldn't even know where to start!" Zoe looks down, placing her face in her hands, resting her elbows on the table.
