"Hrmpf. If ye want privacy, so be it, then," Durg snorts as he gets no response from Liatra. From the corner of his eye he notices the two newcomers, a human and a dwarf. He listens to them for awhile and as he realizes, that they are also looking for jobs, he decides to approach them.

With a nod to both of them he speaks to Cailean and Rogar, "Good day, travelers. I am Durg. I am also looking for work, but so far had little luck. Spells I don't understand and thieving does not interest me, but I can break bones with my bare hands." You are looking at a tall, muscular half-orc wearing worn loose clothing. His head is clean shaven.

"Ach! Durg, ye be? Good tae be makin' yer acquaintance, I'm thinkin'. I be Rogar Flowstone, Cleric o' Grendath, atcher service. An' this be Cailean Roik, who I'm assumin'll be atcher service after he fills his growlin' belly, aye! Have yerself a seat, me orcish friend; ye won't be fearin' prejudice from Rogar Flowstone! O' course, if'n ye were half-GOBLIN, I'd be splittin' yer skull...but I've been knowin' plenty o' decent half-orcs, so ye're welcome tae sit."

Rogar swivels on his stool, turning back to Joe. "Accch! Inkeeper! Bring me new friend Durg a tankard o' the same stuff ye been givin' me! Put it on me tab, an' I'll be payin' ye when I'm tae drunk tae haggle the price!"

Durg gets excited, when Semabin mentions tradition. "My path also tradition, but not my people's. Tradition taught by my master. He a wise man, know all about tradition. He told Durg tradition more than fighting. He says it a way of thinking, make you the man and the warrior you want to be."

The half-orc is visibly taken by the friendly gesture by the dwarf. "Durg glad to drink with you and honored to sit in your table. You're not a dwarf, who hates all orc blood. Me seen many dwarves like that, but it another story and don't like to talk about it when meeting new friends." The half-orc raises the tankard brought by the Inn staff. "Drink hail, new friends! May this day bring better fortune to all of us!"

"Excuse me, Rogar, but may I take a seat, too?"

The dwarf, apparently so distracted by ale, Durg, and his own huge voice, suddenly notices Semabin for the first time, and grin. "Aye! Sit where ye may, me friend! We'll be crowdin' the whole damned bar, we will! I'm assumin' ye heard me introduction just now, so there's no need tae be spoutin' it again, aye? Have a seat, lad! Innkeep, order me 'nother new friend a flagon o'...ehh, he's one o' them Sairundan folks, better just get 'im a glass o' wine. But put it on me tab anyway! 'Less it costs more'n a gold per cup, leastways."

His orders complete, Rogar turns back to Semabin, and extends a grimy hand in greetings. "Accch, almost slipped me mind! What be yer name, lad?"

Merlis' head felt like it was spinning as he was being pulled in two different directions at once, but he realized he was standing in the middle of the floor and had to say something before the others thought he was a simpleton.

Upon hearing the offer to take a seat should the other man leave it, Merlis waited a moment until he heard another speak of hiring on help, but lacking the coins to do so. Hoping the men would not think him overly bold, Merlis spoke once more.

"If you seek help, but fear you do not have the coin to pay, I am willing to offer my services as an equal partner, and would require no advance payment. I still have enough coins from my last job that I am not worried of having to live on the street, but that is not to say that I am rich by any means."

Taking a step closer to the them, Merlis hoped if he could prove himself useful immediately, it might help his case as well.

"If you are worried about people disturbing you while you rest, I have memorized a spell of alarm that would trigger if anyone came too near your room. I am willing to cast it for you in good faith and friendship."

The elf rogue looks up at Merlis, surprised and pleased at the interruption.

"I am Atella, and these here are D'Artagnan and Jo. Zhang is upstairs taking a rest. I would gladly accept your offer Merlis, if my companions also agree."

If the others agree, Atella will grab a chair for Merlis and call the waitress to bring more drinks...

"I'd take ale, too, as long as it is Stormbrew, but I guess it'll be more than one gold here in Orussus."

His orders complete, Rogar turns back to Semabin, and extends a grimy hand in greetings. "Accch, almost slipped me mind! What be yer name, lad?"
"My name is Semabin ai Harudan, from the Zephyr. May your strikes carry the strength of the storm, as we say.", Semabin greets everyone at the table.

D'Artagnan Looks at Merlis.
"By all means, sit down. And Atella, you are right, this may not be the....best place to be. And....I do have some worthwhile money. Let's have a drink, and then find a less crowded place to talk. I'll buy."

Cailean finishes spooning the stew into his mouth and follows it down with the rest of his beer. "Sorry, I haven't eaten in a couple of days. I'm Cailean Riok."

Enter Loskrad!

The door opens and a tall, powerfully built young man enters the bar. Black hair falls just above bright green eyes, being held up slightly by a white headband he wears. His light brown skin is covered almost entirely in studded leather dyed black. Sheathed across his back is a massive sword almost as large as he is. He carries in one hand a half-filled backpack and an unstrung longbow in the other. He smiles and thinks to himself, I made it, this is really the Red Dragon Inn. They should teach me spellcasting just for getting this far.

A barmaid looks at him and smiles as he enters, “ah, another new face!” she exclaims. “Go up to the bar and introduce yourself to Joe, he likes fresh faces.”

The new man silently obliges, walks to the bar, and leans on the counter, “greetings, sir. My name is Loskrad Avalin. It’s an honor to meet you.”

“And what about them,” Joe responds, gesturing to the rest of the bar.

Loskrad pauses, “what do you mean?” Joe commands him to introduce himself to the rest of the bar at once. Loskrad turns and doesn’t speak for a few seconds, unsure of what to say, finally coming out with “...My name is Loskrad. I’m studying to be a wizard.” real smooth, he mocks himself internally.

He returns his attention to Joe, “I’ve traveled a good distance to get here and I’d like to celebrate that and the journey ahead of me if I can. I’d like a pint of your most generic alcohol and a good place to sit down.”

Two: we have the old mans log book, perhaps we could retrace his voyage?

OOC: Which logbook do you have? There were several, and I don't remember anyone picking any of them up.

Atella blinks as he watches Zhang leave.

Turning back to Jo and D'Artagnan...

OOC: A note... Jo is planning on leaving in the morning, not Zhang. Zhang was planning on following D'Artagnan, who had mentioned getting a room for the night.
