Once more, the door opens, and a blonde man, clad in bright clothes enters. His green eyes scan the tavern. A few visible burn marks hint that the man might have been caught in a fire once.

"Well met, my fellow colleages. I am Ashnar, from the village of Otun, a mage specialized in the art of evocation, and with great interest in the art of abjuration. I have no skills in illusion or similar mind control, however.
I have recently returned from Monemvassia, which has been plagued by a goblin tribe."

"Yes, 20,000 Gold Pieces, and no, not a suicide mission, my friend," the old man answers, his bushy eyebrows raised at the suggestion, as if he seems to be a little bit upset that Rillian would think that, "That's all the money I have for this, so I just thought I'd mention it so you understand things from my side of the table. That's how much I can give if you have a great tale to tell at the end and I really like your work. Also, its 20,000 Gold Pieces in total, not per adventurer."

"Hmmm...well assuming I hire 6 adventurers, it only comes down to a few thousand per person--probably safer to assume somewhere around 2000 unless I spend the full amount, I suppose." Zarindas ponders, sipping his wine, "I can't say any more about it here, but once I have enough interest, I'd like to ask everyone to head over to a better place where we can chat about this and pick out the final adventurers for the job. Sound fair?"

Scun gets a drink refill and walks slowly over to Zarindas. "I'll hear your proposal at least. I'm available for work. Name is Scun."

Ogrin crawls out from underneath the table he fell asleep under. He seems to have sobered up somewhat.

"Oh dearest lord Mongrel, save me from loud noises today... Hey, Ril, Scun! Fancy meeting you here. Looking for a job?" He notices they're busy talking and silenly listens in on their conversation.

Rillian & Scun:[SBLOCK] The halfling thug now has a more martial outlook than before, with two swords and a warhammer replacing his rapier and dagger. He also sports a chain shirt and a very nicely made metallic shield that looks almost like it's made of silver. He's obviously been spending most of his hard-earned money.[/SBLOCK]

"I'll join you, Zarindas. I've recently returned from the Island of Varras'zul, where I, together with these two fine men," Ogrin indicates Scun and Rillian, "defeated horrible fiendish monsters using luck and skill."

Ogrin continues, telling all of their tale, excepting the last part about their employer likely being an impostor, and the part where he almost drowned in a swamp.

Zarindas chuckles, "Anyway, it sounds like a fascinating story! What sorts of monsters did you find on the island? I hear its a pretty dangerous place! What was your most exciting encounter?"
