"Glad to hear that, my friend. Hope you do not mind me calling you friend." He looks at you for a second, but doesn't seem to care whether you answer him. "My name is Jasper Goodheart, but my friends call me Bookworm. And what might your names be?" He looks around the room, waiting to see if someone will talk to him.

"It's gener'lly custom'ry, by the way, to introduce yerself t' tha bar when y' enter. As Joe over there would tell you." Joe looks up from behind the bar, "Oh, heh, was distracted by the bear..."

Farid smiles, "I'm Farid, aspiring warrior." He holds up his Dwarven Urgosh as if it'd signify something.

Jasper "Bookworm" Goodheart, Halfling Wizard

"I am sorry, Joe. I am new here in town. My name is Jasper, and it is nice to meet you. If there's anything a little arcanist can do for you, just let ole' Bookworm know." Jasper looks apologetically at Joe, hoping he understands. "And, it's nice to meet you, Farid." Jasper opens the book he has in his hand and begins reading it with great concentration.

"There's no need for weapons. I'm just an adventurer like yourselves, trying to find my place in the world. Ah, hello Rika, it's good to see you again. Did you find the hippogriphs?

Bookworm:
[SBLOCK]If you made the will save (DC 13) you recognize the illusion. You see a faint outline of an ape surrounding an elf dressed in leather armor and wearing the woodsman's clothes.[/SBLOCK]

"Hmmmm..." Katherine sits back and gets a faraway look. "I've never had a chance to actually read the writting of demons and devils, I probably would have paid you just for the collecters item.... Experimenting on an elf, then? And alchemy too. I wish I'd been around for that one...."

"You see," Jack complains, "That's exactly what I told Lenny. People'd pay good money to get a gander at the book, I said. I rather pay you so people can't get a good look at it, he said. Ah well, it's all for the best I suppose."

"Wouldn't want more of those fungus monsters or crazed elves running around at any rate."

OOC: Sorry for the lull in conversation, KB... It's been a busy week.

This just doesn't seem right. That monkey was with the guy who hired me, yet he doesn't know we got called back. I think this is someone using a spell.

Spot check 1d20+2=21

Rika stands up and shakes the monkey's hand.

Nice to meet you.

After giving the the 'monkey' a handshake, Rika freaks out.
That's not a monkey! Thats Planus from my little hippogriff excursion! Nice trick, though.

OOC: Assume disguise self is visual only.

Farid tries to keep himself from laughing, "Na' a monkey? I think y'r eyes deceive ye."

Katherine nods. "He had a point I suppose - a curiousity to me is a source of power to someone else." She glances over at the little sideshow with the monkey. "Great, pranks now...."

Jack looks over his shoulder at the odd exchange.

Squinting at the simian apparition, he remarks, "It's just an elf magicked up to look like an ape. Really, with such long lives, you'd think they could come up with better jokes than that."
