An ape bearing striking resemblance to the ape trained by the men who sent Rika on her last adventure enters the inn.

"Ah, such a relief to be away from that awful Bert. Much better being off on my own, yes indeedy. Muck the Monkey is my name. Pleased to meet you all."
He performs a little bow and then shuffles over and takes a seat near the others.

OOC: I guess it depends on the definition of "interacted with." I figured that an ape was wierd enough that being in the same room would qualify as interacted with, especially since he is talking and what not. I thought a Will save to notice the illusion, and then if the save failed, an opposed disguise vs. spot check to see through the disguise. Either way, its just the tavern.

OOC:
[sblock]"Your Disguise check result determines how good the disguise is, and it is opposed by others’ Spot check results." It's always Spot to notice a disguise. If you use a spell to disguise you (like Polymorph), you get a +10. The table doesn't cover disguising yourself as a different creature type, but a different race gets you a -2. Illusion spells are the ones that give Will saves. My understanding is that you're not using a spell, but a skill.[/sblock]

Farid is clearly shocked and grabs his weapon, "... How is it you speak, monkey? I do not understand how this possible..?"

"Bert was an effective trainer. He taught me many things, such as how to speak. He was so mean and bossy though."

OOC: Ah, ok. I am using a spell. Disguise Self from the trickery domain.

The shock that was on Farid's face is now replaced by confusion and his tension relaxes -- "... How does one teach a bear to speak Common?"

Just then, the door to the inn opens and a Halfling pops through the new opening. "Good day, everyone." He's scanning around the bar as he begins talking. "How is everyone in her....what? My eyes must be deceiving me." Jasper's eyes have come to rest on the ape sitting in the seat.

[sblock]Will Save vs. Big Bear (1d20+3=15)

Is that all I need to do to tell you're not an ape?
[/sblock]

"So, how is the ape doing today? And for you others, how are you all doing?" Jasper takes a seat right next to the giant ape, and begins grinning like a little kid.

"I'm, um..." Farid stops and trails off... then catches himself, "Doing well. I'm well."
