Seeing Grys recruiting someone Mythra calls out Stop, desist at once! She looks like a bard! You can't trust bards; they are useless and will sing at you and are unnaturally cheerful!

Alexia turns to Mythra, her scarred face somber but her gray eyes gleaming, "Good eye, sir. I do in fact know my way around a melody or two, and you only have my word that I am trustworthy. However, if cheer is your enemy, as it appears to be, then fear not. My repertoire includes a number of dirges and tragedies that should banish any remnant of mirth from your mind. The Maiden's Drowning, The Lost Soldier, The Two Lovers... you know? I think you may actually enjoy the latter. It's a precautionary tale about the dangers of reckless talk and thoughtless action. Perhaps I will tell it to you at some point, if we are to travel together."

"Also," her face breaks into a little smile, "I doubt I'd be useless. It certainly looks like you all could use someone a bit less, um, abrasive, on your side. Knowing how to talk to people isn't a poor skill to have."

"Hear, hear. I'm Orsik, called The Small by my brethren and friends. Could you prove your worth by undoing some damage this old grumpy did with the dwarves? We'll need strong body to be placed between things we encounter and this virtous mage.

And his height will come in handy when I need to crush something over him."

adds Orsik with small smile.

OOC: I'm good with Alexia too. kal'Tarron is not too keen on those who're involved in undeath, but he won't know about your heritage until it comes up ;).

kal'Tarron curses Mythra under his breath. "I think we need a healer, and Alexia's magic songs will fill the need. Perhaps you've forgotten, what with being unconscious for so long in the last battle." he adds.

Then, rubbing his sore ribs, "and to be honest, your healing skills do almost more harm than good," he continues with a slight grin.

Alexia grimaces at Orsik's request. "I'll try, but I don't promise success. Some harsh words can only be undone by their speakers." She turns around and walks to the table where Muzdum sits.

[sblock=Dwarven]"Sir, I ask that you reconsider your refusal. I know the elves, sorry, eladrin..."[/sblock]
Alexia rolls her eyes.
[sblock=Dwarven]"...haven't exactly been as polite as they should have been. In fact, the one of them, Mythra, seems to have gone out of his way to be as unbearable as possible. However, the other two..."[/sblock]
She gestures at Orsik and kal'Tarron.
[sblock=Dwarven]"...seem like much more decent people. And even Grys was probably just defending his friend, just like you did. Besides all that, it is a job, sir. Mythra isn't exactly my first choice of companions either, but like you said before, the tavern's been pretty quiet. Um, beheadings aside, I guess. Who knows when the next opportunity will come along. And come on, look at them, they've all been roughed up. Wouldn't you want to be there when that one..."[/sblock]
Alexia turns her head and smiles back at Mythra.
[sblock=Dwarven]"...gets beaten up? You know, so you can watch it happen?"[/sblock]

[sblock=Dwarven]
"You know how to speak to a dwarf lady, I give you that. Plus what you say is mostly true. I'll struck a deal with you: if my partner Braddock here is free to come as well, I'm all yours."
[/sblock] replies the dwarf in his tongue, giving Alexia a once over.

[sblock=Dwarven]"I'll see what I can do. Thank you."[/sblock]

Alexia bows and then returns to Orsik and the others, frowning slightly, "He says that he would be willing to join us, but only if his friend can come as well. I don't know if that's acceptable, but that's his condition."

Muzdum waves his hand childishly with a big smile in his hairy face, then takes his mug and raises it in the direction of the adventurers.

OOC: A bit of an unfortunate metagame dilemma here, because I'm really not too comfortable with the idea of taking seven players on the adventure. So if the dwarves are sticking together then I guess it's not gonna work out; maybe Mythra should just open his mouth again and there'll be a good IC reason for them not to come. :p

Alexia bows and then returns to Orsik and the others, frowning slightly, "He says that he would be willing to join us, but only if his friend can come as well. I don't know if that's acceptable, but that's his condition."

"I have no problem with the two of them joining the group. The bickering between them and Mythra would be epic in nature." Grys laughs. "But the professor might have something to say about it. We could invite the Dwarves to come with us to the meeting with the professor tomorrow and see if he is willing to foot the bill for an additional companion."

[sblock=ooc] DAMN! Gone for a day, or so, and I miss some good post opportunites! now it seems pointless to argue with grys... grrr. but to address the meta gaming aspect, Braddock will sit it out, I have one character in an active adventure and I dont want to make it too hard on Antithesis. I will miss Muzdum though... [/sblock]

[sblock=Dwarven] To Alexia: M'lady, ye be as charming as ye are beautiful. I truly appreciate your efforts here. If ye've mastered our tongue, then ye've got to know the fun we have at drinking, insulting and story telling. Twas really no harm meant. I just can't resist the urge to needle the fey folk. They bristle at the slightest comment, hehe. [/sblock]

To Grys, "Elf, when you talk... and talk... and talk... and for all that the Seven hold holy, talk... all I hear is the sound of flatulence. Hot air and ye smell. Ye' look like ye fight like a girl and probably spent the majority of your last scuffle on the ground unconscious... When I've said I'm done with ya, I'm done with ya. Besides, the lady here need a protector, and the only one in seven leagues who can do it right, is Muzdum."

And true to his word, he ignores Grys's future comments.

[sblock=Dwarven] Muzdum, my brother, ye've got to go with these elves and protect this charming lass. Only the Goliath there looks like he can take a hit and a gem such as this lady.... well, she needs protecting. Will you do it man? Go with those lads and keep her healthy? I'm going to stay here and drink... I'm dying to go talk with the mage over there. [/sblock]
