Teleporting monk

I don't recall the prerequisites and benefits of the Sun School tactical feat (C. Warrior). Could someone refresh me?

I'd like to create a conjurer with the abrupt jaunt ability (PHB 2) who is tricked out to flurry when teleporting. I want to see if the build is interesting. Suggestions?

Flurry of Blows, BAB +4. That's it.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

As with all these things, I believe they are typically handled better with psionics? IS there anything psionic characters can't do better? (noting that my groups have never used psionics, so maybe my assessment is a little off)

DM doesn't like psionics.

I'm thinking monk 1/sorcerer 8 with a raven or hawk familiar, the sun school tactical feat, and lots of teleportation spells, especially benign transposition. And ascetic mage. I could have my familiar swoop in near any foe I want to attack, and then I could benign transposition myself with my familiar, and get a free attack with Sun School.

What else to do, though? A character who is mostly sorcerer is fragile in melee combat. I'd probably be better served using the familiar to deliver the party's knight into desirable locations. I would function mostly as a sorcerer, but I would just have a fun trick where I could occasionally take out enemies who don't expect me to hit them.

So I need something to make that special super attack more interesting. Suggestions?

So monk 1/sorcerer 8.
Ascetic Mage
Sun School
Stunning Fist (bonus from monk)
Leadership (the DM allows it, so I'd be crazy not to take it)

Weapon Finesse? I don't think I would necessarily fight unarmed, because I don't think Sun School requires it. I might take Deflect Arrows, just so I could fly around and be more invincible. I need some damage dealing ability. Hmm.

Complete Adventurer might have some feats of use to you. And is there a PrC that combines the monk with a sorceror? I know there is one combining cleric/monk.

There is the Enlightened Fist PrC from Complete Arcane that could help: 8/10 levels of spell casting advancement as well as monk abilities.

Ascetic Mage feat from Complete Adventurer is quite useful (sacrifice spell to add damage to unarmed strike, sorc and monk levels stack for determining AC bonus, can use Cha bonus instead of Wis bonus for AC, can freely multiclass between sorc/mnk).

(28-pt. buy, Greyhawk-style hit points)

Relampago Por-Sol, the Storm at Sunset
Human monk 1/sorcerer 8

Str 12
Dex 14
Con 14
Int 10
Wis 8
Cha 20

HP 50
AC 19 (+5 Charisma, +2 Dex, +2 deflection)
Atk +6 (d6+1 unarmed strike; Stunning Fist DC 19)
Fort +6, Ref +6, Will +7

Feats: Ascetic Mage, Improved Unarmed Strike, Leadership, Skill Focus (Concentration), Stunning Fist, Sun School

Spells Known:
4 - (4) ?
3 - (6) Dimension step, ?
2 - (7) ???
1 - (8) Benign transposition, mage armor, protection from evil, shocking grasp?
0 - (6) who cares????????

Gear:
36,000gp

Cloak of Charisma +2 (4000)
Ring of Protection +2 (8000)
Wand of magic missile (9th level, 6750)

More suggestions?

The DM owns the book, but I don't. Could you tell me more about Enlightened Fist, at least its prereq's and the first few levels.
Prereqs: Concentration 8 ranks, Kn (Arc) and Spellcraft 5 ranks, Combat Casting, Improved Unarmed Strike, Stunning Fist, ability to cast 3rd level or higher arcane spells.

Med BAB, Good Ref/Will
1. Ki Strike (magic), monk abilities (no Flurry improvement though), no spell advancement.
2. Fist of Energy (sacrifice stunning fist use for energy damage), +1 level spellcasting.
3. Arcane Fist (sacrifice stunning fist use to cast and deliver touch spell through unarmed strike), +1 level spellcasting.
4. +1 level spellcasting.

10 levels in all.

A monk with an 8 wisdom? Don't you think he'd at least have a 10, wisdom being one of the main stats of a monk?

Don't need to, of course. Just seems more "realistic" to me. It is your character, though, of course. :)

Prereqs for Enlightened fist are Combat Casting, Improved Unarmed Strike & Stunning Fist, 8 ranks Concentration 5 each of Knowledge Arcana & spellcraft. Plus you need an arcane CL of 3rd.

It's a very good class for you, if you pick it up at 6th level, you'll be losing one level of spell progression, but gaining 3 levels of monkish abilities, ki strike (magic) and the ability to trade stunning attempts for flaming or shocking unarmed strikes.

If you can convince your DM to let you disregard the Warlock alignment retrictions, or you don't mind being LE, I would go warlock rather than sorcerer to Flee the Scene (Close range Dimension Door) at will.
