Tell me about 3rd party 3.5 psionic stuff

Ok I am thinking about an age of sail /psionics as only magic game with possibly some sci fi twists.

I suspect psionics will either be the only magic or possibly the only PC starting magic (like my original idea)

Currently I looking for some cool 3rd party psionic stuff to play with.

I have seen Mindscapes and will probably use it but I don't know what else is good?

Also other than the Sanhedrin class on the WOTC boards are there any good healing classes?

I suspect the Ardent and Divine mind will go (don't like mantles or the psuedo cleric) Should they?

I highly recommend Malhavoc Press' psionics books. If Thoughts Could Kill, Mindscapes, and Hyperconscious are all excellent.

Dreamscarred Press is doing a lot of psionics work. I've enjoyed Untapped Potential: New Horizons in Psionics. They've got a lot of PDF products too.

Fiery Dragon has some psionics books, including the Psionics Toolkit and the Of Sound Mind adventure.

Green Ronin has the Mindshadows setting. Plus Monsters of the Mind. I also highly recommend the Psychic's Handbook, even though it's not based on the XPH.

There's a list out there somewhere with a complete listing. This should get you started, though. Oh, and be sure to check out WotC's Mind's Eye articles.

You should consider Hyperconscious, it updates Mindscapes to 3.5 and adds new material as well. It's written by the same author of the PsiH and the XPH, it's as official as you can get and the material is just as good.

I'll second the recommendation for Dreamscarred works. They just released the Mind Divine too, which has some really cool stuff in it, including a good take on psionic clerics.

Hyperconcious is If Thoughts Could Kill & Mindscapes updated for 3.5. The adventure is changed, and there are new things, IIRC.

Also, a lot of what you listed is 3.0 not 3.5 (definitete the Fiery Dragon stuff). Piratecat said there was a 3.5 update to Of Sound Mind (a great introductory adventure, BTW), but I've never seen it. While I think most 3.0 products convert well to 3.5, I don't feel that way about psionics.

Yup, don't get ITCK / Mindscapes - just get Hyperconscious - it's the other two updated to 3.5. And I definitely recommend it. I often use parts of it on my psionic characters. I'm not going to say it's perfect - some of it really needs to be looked at before you use to see if you need to tweak it - but overall, I'd say the book is an 8 out of 10.

The Ardent from Complete Psionic is a very sound class - I would recommend leaving it in your game. Arguably one of the best parts of Complete Psionic. I'm playing one now and it's pretty dang good :) The power selection can make it hard to play well if you don't do a little planning, but it's a fun class.

The Society Mind (available for free at Your Games Now / Dreamscarred Press / RPGNow) can act as a healer, although it doesn't get good at it until around 5th level.

I'm going to leave off pimping my own works, since others have already mentioned them :)

The adventure portion of If Thoughts Could Kill is entirely absent from Hyperconscious. There is an XPH update for If Thoughts Could Kill.

At any rate, Hyperconscious is the top-shelf third party d20 psionics book; I'm especially enamored with the mindscapes psionic combat system. Untapped Potential is very good too, and fortunately, is written to allow you to use psionic combat.

Monsters of the Mind by Green Ronin has some very neat and flavorful psionic creatures. The book was originally written with the 3.0 Psionics Handbook in mind, but there is a web update that provides XPH stats.

Psionics Toolkit was a 3.0 book, though some of the GM advice is still valid; the rules would take porting. Of Sound Mind is an excellent adventure, I would be a fairly easy port, well worthwhile.

Yes, this is what I meant by different (i,e, there is a different adventure).

I wasn't sure about this. However, if you are getting Hyperconcious, the only reasing it get ITCK is for the adventure.

*three*

Any fan of Psionics should and must get Jeremy's stuff. You might not use all of it, but darn if it's not great reading material!

Btw Jeremy, LOVE with much emphasis the Mind Divine PDF. :) Great, great, GREAT stuff. :)

Thanks!

Just wait for the print release, when I introduce some new organizational substitution levels and epic PrC support! And probably a brief history of the mentats. And maybe a little bit more :)

OH! NPCyclopedia: Psionics is a great sourcebook for ready-to-use psionic NPCs, as well as some extra crunch for character options!
