Tell me about C&C

I'll just toss in my, "Yea what they all said." Easy to convert from any edition D&D (1E & 2E are the easiest, but 3E is no real problem. Anything from the classics to the newest releases can be adapted. Easy to houserule. Fast and fun, and real easy on the CK (DM), a lot less prep time than 3E.
If I might threadjack for a moment, anyone know how I can adapt the dragon shaman & beguiler to C&C?

Posting links is a totally valid reply...

Someone asked a very similiar question and the Dragon Shaman they said to find very easy once they thoriughly read the C&C rules.

If you want help remind me which books the classes are in, and if I own them (very likely) I'll tell you how I would do it.

Why is that, if I might ask? Just a power level thing? The C&C DM screen has giant strength beyond 19. I'm confuzzled.

Yes, it relates to power level - the monsters don't get CON or DEX boosts, if you let PCs get them above +3 it skews the system. In particular, something I didn't initially realise - the +2 +4 & +6 items seem priced with the assumption the '19' cap is in place. Strength is a special case, since Girdles of Giant Strength can exceed 19, this may be deliberate to keep high level Fighter types viable vs Wizards, with their uncapped damage dice. C&C giant strength is not as overwhelming as 1e though - eg STR 24-25 is +6/+6 not +6/+12-+7/+14, and that's Storm Giant strength.

One way uncapping would skew the system - like earlier pre-3e editions, in C&C a high level warrior's hit points should be able to soak up a lot of monster damage, whereas Wizards are much more vulnerable. This balances the Wiz's superior destructive power. If you uncap the stats, a Wizard with effective CON 24 is getting 1d4+6 hp/level and this ceases to be the case, the high level Wiz may have more hp than the Fighter or the Fire Giant, and will likely dominate the game.
