Tell me about "weird" lands in your world

In Man created weird locales there's the Collegium Arcana on Pluto. The premiere college of magic in the (Dragon Earth) Solar System. All sorts of strange things happen, and a mundane day is an event.

Ghosts and ghoulies and deities tripping over skateboards. Reformed demons teaching classes on the impact of Babylonian mythology on the Christian practice of magic. Visitants from outre dimensions popping in, going "this is too weird", and popping out for something more sensible (like a schizophrenic's hallucinations).

Then there are days when it actually gets odd.

The Collegium Arcana on Pluto. When you're freaked out by the mundane and need some strangeness to center yourself.

Since Eric brought up cosmologies, I thought I'd mention my homebrewed version of things.

I use a modified version of the standard DnD cosmology (material, inner, outer planes, etc.), though in my world there are nine material planes all stacked on each other like pancakes. It is impossible to Plane Shift to these planes, or to even sense them (it would sort of be like trying to look at your own ears). However, if you traverse to the outer planes, you can "look back" at the material world and see it for how it truly is. Then you can shift to any one of the nine planes you want. Very few people know of the Nine Materials, and the handful of clerics, wizards, and mystics who do know are typically considered religious or arcane theorists.

There is only one means of traveling from material to material plane. There are bizarre creatures that exist on almost every plane (the only creatures to do so) called Portal Cows, or Gray Bulls. They look something like a cross between an bull and a triceratops, but with slick, grey skin. Their blood has the strange property of phasing in and out of the material (making them harder to hit the more they bleed), and as soon as you kill one, the whole beast is instantly consumed in a flash as a tiny portal between material planes is opened. If someone has the strength of mind or magic to force that tiny portal to open a little bit more--well then, you can go anywhere.

The Alfar Tower, part of my own setting, is a large monolithic tower some 200 miles tall. Entire civilizations dwell within it, with chamber ceilings miles high. It's full of inbred primitives, struggling kingdoms, and mutated creatures. All of it is connected by a great stair that is constantly filled with storms.
