Tell us your story. Which crowdfunders are overdue, and by how much? What was the original estimated delivery date?

Let's set a 1-year limit on this--to keep this down to a reasonable list, only crowdfunders which are a year or more overdue, please! That's a year or more past the estimated delivery date listed on the crowdfunding page.

If you want to get Kickstarter exclusives – things that never make it to retail - then you back the KS and hope, or not back the KS and hope another way. I go for option 2. A few years down the line will really test if I actually wanted it.

Just got an update about Marlo's Mire. Looks like it is finally reaching the end soon. Its taken so long mostly because the whole idea of what's included keeps getting redesigned and they redid the whole thing from the ground up, I think they're including an entire game system to play with it(though it is supposed to be rules light) instead of being system neutral like hot springs island. I really thought that was completely unnecessary and wish they had more of the project laid out ahead of time before creating the Kickstarter, seems like all the design and writing has been done since the project funded. I still expect it to be a good final product, just wish it was done sooner with better planning.

Same. BLG seems to have a history of crowdfunding for miniatures, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars, then failing to fulfill and selling the IP to somebody else-- who charges again for fulfillment. Rinse, wash, repeat. And I blame Kickstarter for allowing it to happen repeatedly.

IMO for companies that have a history of the same behavior, seems to me like it's on the new backers. It's pretty easy to do some quick research and find out if the company has a good or bad or no, history that the market should resolve itself.

Don't disagree. In the case of BLG it was murky because there were a string of campaigns in quick succession and backers in the first 4 or 5 were already taken by the time everything was defaulted on.

Later backers especially had evidence of what was going on, had they checked, but it still doesn't resolve Kickstarter of some of its obligations to regulate commerce on its site IMO.

I think it was because of BLG that it started limiting the number of active campaigns that a creator could post at the same time, but by then one single person had waltzed away with hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars for multiple unfulfilled campaigns. Kickstarter should never have allowed that to happen. I suspect that as long as it got its cut, Kickstarter was happy to remain blissfully unaware of what was happening on its site.

The thing with KSs, is that when they pay off, they sometimes really pay off. It's really thrilling when a KS you are backing goes through the roof. I mostly back for miniatures, and I've gotten some incredible deals over the years - Reaper KSs and D&L KSs were incredible value.

So when the system works as it should - the creator gets the capital they need to make a success, and the consumer gets a great deal in exchange for money up front and a bit of patience, it's a win-win. And I love feeling like I contributed, in some little way, to a small business becoming successful. That's a warm glow. So I'll keep backing them.

One other thing: I really enjoy delayed gratification. If I have faith that the KS will deliver, I don't mind waiting at all. Sometimes I'll check in and re-experience the excitement of the cool stuff I will eventually get. Then when it does arrive, it's like Christmas.

Occasionally, things happen and you get a dud. Such is life.

This is a perfect statement of why I still back. Also the fact that I will hopefully crowdfund at some point, so learning about the good, the bad and the ugly, and supporting people in the middle of that dream.

The thing with BLG is that it's really more about one individual, Alex Lim. who first scammed people under the Artistic Justice brand, and then started a new company called Blacklist Games. When people asked BLG if Alex was involved, they denied this. I did jump on their Fantasy Series 2 Legendary tier which also included Fantasy Series 1 – which had been fulfilled in Europe, so I figured it was safe. Guess not.

There's currently a company called PQ Gamez run by someone by the name of Christopher Johnson, which coincidentally has bought the rights to Buddy Cop and Martial Arts: The Card Game from BLG and have rebranded/reskinned them as CineLucha and The Martial Way, and are currently doing a kickstarter for the latter. They claim Alex Lim isn't involved, but so did BLG. I can not say for certain, but given Alex's previous MO I would not trust this.

I was SOOOOOO close to backing this, but something told me to hold off that just didn't seem right. I hope you get your stuff and my feeling was unfounded.

Got mine 2 weeks ago, and they look great. Very fun trip down memory lane, and looking forward to running a one-shot for friends who never played it before. The Mutagen Green Foil covers look sweet AF.

I know Palladium had some real issues related to Robotech and the minis game, but this one seems to have rolled out just fine, except for the usual complaints from people mad that they weren't personally called on the phone or sent engraved mail explaining every process step, along with personal delivery from Kevin Siembieda or something...

As I understand it, original EU backers of Fantasy Series 1 got their miniatures. US backers did not, because apparently BLG ran out of money for shipping so they got stuck in fulfillment limbo where they kept accruing storage debt in the warehouse and the backers eventually had to pay the warehouse to ship them out. Those of us who got FS1 as part of the Lasting Tales/FS2 kickstarter never saw anything from BLG at all.

Fantasy Series 1 and 2 got sold to Wildspire Miniatures, who provided backers with STLs for free and minis for ~$50 each. These minis are currently being delivered – I recently got notification that my package was en route from the EU hub.
