Template Epic Spell (Applying templates through Epic Spells)

I'd have to say the DC seems a tad high for what it does. At the levels its being applied I doubt it beats the Demilich template by great amounts which is a LOT easier to get.

Very well... Do think the x2 is appropriate, though?

Too low by far.

Instantaneous is better than Permanent (can't be dispelled, etc), and Permanent is x5.

Geoff.

PS: Suggestion: Drop the mitigating factors, double the duration (+2), and recast it daily. DC 1499 (lasts for 40 hours per casting).

You do know that the base duration for transformation spells is permanent? The x2 is on top of that...

Anyone that has something to add?

Increase the Ad Hoc max HP to +60, and change the ad hoc +12 HP/HD to +120 (count each point as a special ability).

Double or triple the cost for the attribute increases. They are racial, and not inherent bonuses.

As I think about it more, this should just be a straight 'instantanious' duration out of the box. No freaking x2.

Typically, however, I use a different skill item rule than many:
Cost = bonus cubed x 10 (x10 again for epic), with the limiter that you cannot make an item with more ranks than you have :-)

---

I think the XP limitation rule needs to be nixored immediately. There's no reaon for it, limit it to 1,000 XP per caster level and you are fine. Change backlash damage to 160d6, and burn 80k XP, and the whole spell seems a bit more appropriate.

kreynolds, Tenacious Magic is not a metamagic feat. It is just an [Epic] feat.

The reason I responded with "no" is because it shows up in the WotC feat list as a metamagic feat. Also, note that the example spells given in the feat description are non-epic spells. It may be an epic feat, but it definately has the feel of a metamagic feat.

In addition, somewhere in the Epic Spell chapter, it says that Epic Spells don't work with feats that work with normal spells. (Sorry, I don't have the book with me, so I don't have the page number)
