Oh, man. The first Conan movie was great. Maybe not if you were a huge Conan fan already, but it's a good movie with a great soundtrack. Certainly one of the best sword & sorcery movies from the 1980s. Now that I've typed that out I might be damning the movie with faint praise. The second movie isn't all that good despite the decent cast. It really hurt them going to PG I think.

It started less than a week ago, actually.
It does, but so does Hawk the Slayer. And as much as I enjoy its cheese, neither is the best D&D movie anymore. D&D: Honor Among Thieves really does surpass both in general cinematic quality (and in D&Dness).

We finally got an actually good D&D branded movie, so it's worth the time.

I don't know about that. It's remarkably representative of most of the D&D groups I've played in.
