Tests and Trials (Manzanita Judging)

The boy shudders as he realizes what is probably contained in the bag. Speechless, he nods vigorously and opens the door wider to allow the dwarf and the human entrance. Without a word, he dashes upstairs.

A moment later, the boy comes down with a long-beared man with white hair dressed in a blue robe with a blue pointed hat. The boy says nothing, but the man says, "Hmmph! I eh ah... well, greetings, and all that, to you , hirelings. Quick now, quick, I've much to do, a busy man I am, not much time left on this old clock, much to do before I go, things running upstairs, experiments, you know the sort, need constant attention and whatnot, anyway, what is it precisely that you require of me?"

Devlin Magruder, human rogue 3

Devlin hands the bag over to the old man. "We found a small band of these creatures camping in the woods. They've been eliminated. We were wondering, though, what they are. They don't appear to be normal goblins and the language they were using was nothing any of us have ever heard before."

Animus: Sorry, didn't mean to forget you! It was my understanding that you were not coming to the tower itself, though. It's a tad confusing. Let me clarify a few things:

It's evening now. Garrit, Malen, and Devlin are at the tower door, talking with the man and the boy. Luthiel is interviewing the goblin, while Jasper and Cryndo are back at the goblin camp, making sure the final remaining, unconscious goblin doesn't... well, do anything. Am I right? (I'm NPCing Cryndo, seems that he's not coming back.)

The bearded man practically shouts, "Bah! I don't have time to explain to you what these creatures are. It is your job to remove them! If it looks dangerous, kill it, and when you think you've killed everything, then come talk to me! Bah! I'm a busy, busy man, I thought your instructions were clear! If you're not up to the task, say so now and save me the trouble of dealing with your failure. I need this done quickly and efficiently, and with no questions asked, got it?" Arms crossed, he glares at each of the three present for a moment.

ooc: I think we're a little off on who's where. Here's what I have from gathered from various things said earlier in the thread.

"Luthiel waits for Devlin's response, then gathers Malen, Jasper, and the goblin. "We're going to take a look at something, okay? There are a few more questions we need to ask you, about this master you told us about. Then we'll let you go." Luthiel asks the goblin to walk beside him, and Malen and Jasper to walk behind."

"Garrit follows Luthiel, once again making sure nothing gets out of line."

"Malen begins mumbling under his breath at the goblin's tirade:"

"Devlin returns to the clearing, noticing that Cryndo is the only one left with him."

Now what I gather from that is Luthiel, Jasper, Malen, Garrit, and the goblin are at the edge of the clearing near the camp and Devlin and Cryndo are are at the tower. Or Devlin could be at the tower alone with Cryndo guarding the unconcious goblin back a their campsite.

Devlin drops the sack on the floor of the tower. "Very well then. I guess we'll return when we're satisfied the woods are safe."

Devlin then turns and heads off to the groups campsite without a backward glance.

Luthiel Faradar Elven Rogue1

OOC:My perception of who's where jibes exactly with Dungannon's
IC: Luthiel waits until the bearded man reenters the tower, then gives the goblin a shake. "Did you recognize that man?" he asks.

Devlin Magruder, human rogue 3

Devlin leads Cryndo back to the campsite, where they await the rest of the party to finish the interrogation of the goblinoid so they can compare information.

The goblin's response is far from satisfying, though it does indeed respond: Rather than answer Luthiel's question, it looks up at the elf, eyes wide and face expressionless, and goes limp in Luthiel's arms. Eyes still open but glazed over, chest still expanding and contracting in the motions of breathing albeit in almost imperceptible measurements, this goblin-creature-thing is dead to the world, for now at least.

The party gathers completely again back at the goblin-like-creatures' campsite.

OOC: For the sake of simplicity, let's do that. =P I think Dungannon is right though. Props!
