Tests and Trials (Manzanita Judging)

Luthiel Faradar Elven Rogue1

Luthiel continues peppering the goblin with questions: "What do you know of the clearing here? Have you ever been here before? Have you ever been in the clearing? Did your master tell you anything about it?"

ooc: what, exactly, is everyone waiting on? I know I'm waiting for any possible response from Cryndo as well as what time of day it is and whether or not I see anything in the clearing.

I'm waiting on responses to my questions, but mostly I'm just trying to get what info I can before you return- I think that'll probably be what moves us ahead.

Dungannon: Time of day hasn't changed much since the last time you checked. It's a little before evening now. The clearing is exactly as you left it.

Scout: The goblin creature seems to tense up as the group moves nearer to the tower. It almost seems to recoil in pain when its eyes pass over the ruined structure. "Here place be... bad... m-m-master say here place be very, very bad, we no go here, dangerous and bad, dangerous and bad, bad, bad, bad..." The goblin trails off and begins muttering under its breath, "Bad... bad... dangerous and bad..." It is still standing and will walk if Luthiel tugs on its arm a little, but otherwise it seems to just stand and twitch and mutter, apparently completely unaware of its surroundings.

Malen, Dwarf Wiz1

Malen begins mumbling under his breath at the goblin's tirade: "'Come on out and help my master clear the wood', he says; 'Oh, sure you can stay in the clearing at night' he says. If I see that boy again I'll brain him."

OOC: I'm still here, waiting for pretty much the info we just got.

Devlin Magruder, human rogue 3

With nothing seemingly amiss, Devlin enters the clearing and heads to the tower. Once there, and seeing no other option, he gives a look to Cryndo, hefts the sack holding the proof, and knocks on the door.

Luthiel Faradar Elven Rogue1

"Don't worry. we aren't asking you to go there" Luthiel says soothingly. "We just want some information about what's there. Did your master tell you why you shouldn't go there?"

Dungannon: A moment of silence passes and then a series of quick, light steps on stone. The door opens a crack and the boy from eariler peers his head out. "I er... Um, hello? Need something? Something wrong? All finished?"

Scout: The goblin does not respond at all. It simply continues twitching and mumbling.

OOC: I may be a little confused, but Luthiel and the goblin-like-creature are just on the edge of the tower clearing, right?

Luthiel Faradar Elven Rogue1

OOC: We were supposed to be getting as close to the clearing as necessary to be able to see the tower, but no closer. I was hoping that would let us show the goblin the tower, without being seen by anyone in the clearing.

IC: Luthiel watches the action by the tower, ready to charge to it should something untoward happen to the group that went to talk to its inhabitants. Out of the corner of his mouth, he whispers for Malen and Jasper to prepare themselves as well, adding "I've suddenly got a bad feeling about this. I don't know what's going on here, but I can't wait to find out."

Devlin Magruder, human rogue 3

Devlin smiles at the boy, "Hello there young man. I have something here for your boss, would you mind letting us in?" Devlin holds up the bag, making sure the boy can see the blood staining the bottom.
