Follows up Devlin's shot at the wizard with one of his own. "Was that so hard?"
[sblock]OOC: Malen fires at the wizard with the light crossbow (+1 to attack, assuming that no one yet threatens the wizard and he benefits from no form of cover), and then drops that weapon while readying his club.
This is all assuming that the big red "M" is Malen and the old man is the blue one...[/sblock]

Malen's bolt soars three feet before it splits into the old man's neck. It impales him against the wooden door. His eyes, still surprised, still terrified, lose their glow and close slowly. There is utter silence. The boy stares at the man for six long seconds before simply opening his mouth and screaming.

Luthiel, unwilling to show how the killing has shaken him, hardens his face, draws his rapier, and levels it at the boy.
"Well, Devlin, shall I do the same with this one? Or shall we allow him a chance to learn from his error in following one so diabolical?"
Luthiel knows that he doesn't sound quite right, but he hopes no one else will notice. <Ye gods, I hope Devlin says to let him go. But if I have to...>

OOC: Umm... maybe I wasn't clear enough. The man is either dead or dying, and the boy is just screaming his head off. That's about it.

The rest of you, spread out and search this place for some cluse or answers or something that will give us an idea what the hells is going on." With that, Devlin heads up the stairs to search the next level of the tower.

"I may not be of any help when it comes to caring for the mage or his apprentice, but I believe I can assist in the searching of the tower." He follows Devlin up the stairs.
