[sblock]As the group makes its way out to the forest again, Jasper will attempt to stay as close to Garrit as possible, without being in his way.[/sblock]

Luthiel Faradar Elven Rogue1

Luthiel is far more cautious this time around, drawing his bow and keeping an arrow nocked, rather than holding his sword in front of him. He will, however, follow right behind Devlin, attempting to move as silently as he does.

Malen, Dwarf Wiz1

Malen readies his crossbow and begins to follow. He only makes it a few steps before stopping and waving the others forward, pausing to wait until they've caught up to move along.

[sblock] Malen positions himself behind both of the more heavily armored fellows, figuring that he'd rather be behind the fellows most likely to make a lot of noise and grab the gobbos attention, rather than in front of him.

OOC: If we get in combat and I miss my turn, my planned actiolns would be fire the crossbow as long as it looked like we were winning. If things take a turn for the worse, cast sleep to knock out foes. This would be Malen's MO until he gets a chance to tweak his prepped spells.[/sblock]

The group travels fairly silently through the woods. Except, of course, for Garrit. His armor clanks and rattles and he manages to step on just about every twig and rustle every bush on the trail. Once they near the clearing with the goblinoids, Devlin takes matters into his own hands and stops everyone. He sneaks forward as quietly as he can to scout it out.

Devlin: [sblock]The camp is not as active as it was last time, but all 5 remaining creatures are outside of their tents. Two are posted at the far end of the clearing and three are sitting in the middle, nervously drinking from their waterskins and glancing about constantly. Luck and skill is with the practiced rogue, and he successfully sneaks back to the party in the woods without making a sound.[/sblock]

Devlin Magruder, human rogue 3

After making his way back to the rest of the party, Devlin lays out the situation.

"There are 5 of the little creatures in the camp. Three are in the middle, near a campfire and two appear to be keeping watch on the far side of the clearing. Now I'm not one for battle plans and such, so I'm not sure what the best way to proceed is. Maybe Garrit can give some voice to that. I will remind you that these are cunning savages, not simple beasts, though. Keep your wits about you whatever may happen and if you get separated, make your way back to the campsite with all due speed."

"Well, I'm not one for battle plans either, however, I would like to keep one alive if at all possible. This parchment has a new language to me on it, familiar, but I can't quite place it. I would love to learn what it says, and maybe even pick up a little of the language as I go. Plus, there might be something important on it. Garrit or Malen, do you think you can provide me with a subdued enemy?"

With this, Jasper unloads his crossbow and pulls out his quarterstaff. He stands next to Garrit, coming up to his waist, and waits for his answer and what steps should be taken next.

Luthiel Faradar Elven Rogue1

"I am no tactician. All I know is that I'd rather stand back and shoot at them than try to go sword-to-sword. Any objections to that?"

Luthiel Faradar Elven Rogue1

Luthiel suggests that he and Devlin sneak ahead to get in position. After a count of 100, Garrit and Cryndo should charge the goblinoids, while Jasper and Malen come up after them to lend magical support. After that, if no one objects, he sets off to find a good sniping spot.
ooc: just trying to boost things along here :)

The two rogues sneak around to the other side of the clearing. The elf, at home in his natural environment, proceeds without making a single sound. Devlin fares poorer and steps on a brittle twig. The snap is light, but one of the black goblin creatures' head shoots over at the sound. It calls out something in its strange language and soon all 5 creatures are creeping towards Devlin.

OOC: Luthiel is about 10' in front of Devlin. Devlin is about at about 3 o' clock on the circular clearing, assuming the far side is 12 o' clock and that the main party is at 6 o' clock.
