Thanks WotC

Woot! This has been both entertaining and informative. I'm sure Morrus is psyched! I still remember his rant on CM about wanting 4E for some decent news coverage on the front page...

I want to thank WotC for timing (seriously, no irony intended) because this new hype info will pretty much help our small local community of D&D players to persist and look forward to something. I was already bit troubled. This was a magical healing. Thanks!

Thanks, WotC!

Your announcement created the right surge of curiosity to get me back to ENWorld, and I thank you a lot for that too :)

Yeah, WotC had a draught of being close to us (the gap between 3rd edition release, Monte-time and so on and... Scott Rouse here!), but this has been remedied.

Thanks for producing great stuff AND being here, talking to us, even on non-WotC-forums!

Cheers, LT.

Yeah, thanks WotC, you did a real solid thing with Morrus, handling the flow of information, and even keeping him in the loop despite unforseen delays.

Well done, well handled, and thanks, again.

I just wanted to thank the crew at WotC ...

1) for providing so much preview information here at the start, and in particular for having a lot of it in electronic form for the press and through your website.

2) for paying for our community's leader and representative, Morrus, to come and be a part of the festivities.

You went all-out for us and I appreciate it!

There was a time when I intensely disliked WotC -- I think that Eric probably recalls that time ;) -- though over the last four years or so, I have come to see them as a shining example of how a game company should be run. Stuff like this (i.e., the massive 4e info dump and sponsoring Morrus's trip to the con) speaks to the level of devotion that WotC has to its consumer base.

So uh, what was your reason for not liking them before? And what was the "turning point" which made you feel the opposite? I'm genuinely curious....

But what none of you know is that Morrus' ticket was only one way. They gave him a "special" meeting alone to ostensibly tell him what he missed, but the real story is much more sinister.

1. They delayed his arrival so he would miss the general announcements;
2. They got him alone so they could brainwash him;
3. They got him drunk and then secretly implanted their mind-control (psionics aren't optional at WotC) device;
4. They send him back and he tells everyone how great WotC and 4E are.
5. He manipulates the ENWorld boards and select posters (see Eric Noah's OP) to give WotC favorable publicity.
6. He transmits the signal via ENWorld that makes us all buy 10 copies of everything 4E.

Remember: these guys have had years to develop their evil master plans! ;)

/ah...that was fun. Back to the real world now.

nuh uh!! ... I wear my plastic stormtrooper helmet to block all those mind controlling rays! ... dang it I can't see anything!

....

I am still wondering how difficult it will be to use 3x stuff with 4x. When 3e came out I ran some friends through 2e version of Against the Giants with no problem. Will 4e be as nice to 3e?

That's the drawback of tinfoil: it blocks line of sight.

I hope so. I have lots of 3E stuff. Plus, the more I read about 4E, the more I see stuff I like. If I don't buy the core books right out of the gate, my girlfriend has already promised/threatened to give them to me for Xmas.

P.S. Thanks WotC. As soon as the Veil of Secrecy was lifted, you were very well prepared to deliver and answer questions. Commendable.
