That was close

Glad to hear the car managed to protect your wife. ITs is much better having a totalled car then a totalled loved one.

Take care.

When it comes to safety, I've owned 3 Volvos (a 240DL, S70, and S60) and never been let down. I don't own one presently, but that's only because none were available from my Mom's cousin (a used car salesman)- instead, he was able to hook me up with a used loaded 2008 Honda Accord with only 3000 miles on it for a stupidiculous price.

I was once a middle car in a multiple car hit & run chain reaction accident on I-35 in Dallas. As I was slowing down because of traffic, my S70 was hit from behind, knocked airborne (nose-up flying wheelie style), landed in a taxi's trunk, and accordioned.

In the car's cabin, however, the only visible damage was a rear seat speaker that popped out of its well, and my passenger and I walked away shocked but unscathed.

According to USAA, there were only a couple of other cars in its class on the market at the time that would have come through (my portion of) the accident I had with as little passenger injury- I recall one of the others was the Nissan Maxima.

I saw an Audi take out a tractor trailer in Germany, while I was stationed there. 3 kms of truck debris and the Audi drove away from the scene.

Glad to hear the wife is o.k. Umbran. Having been in a serious accident that I walked away from (when it should have turned out otherwise) I know that right now she's going to be a little jumpy; be VERY good to her. (not like you wouldn't, but you know.)

Megaditto! Time to dust off your "Most Excellent Hubby in the World" costume.

After my aforementioned crash, I had night-terrors for a month.

I'm phobic about height, and my aforementioned accident occurred about a mile North of an interchange I was going to be using- you know, one of those super high-rise kind? Had that accident happened on that interchange...hence the nightmares.:eek::eek:

The driver who bumped onto your wife's car must be drunk. She must be charged with the reckless driving and pay for the damages of your wife's sedan. It's good to know that your wife is safe except that the sedan's not doing good.

Not sure how I missed this thread, but I'll add that I'm glad your wife is ok. And that I hope the insurance companies have gotten on the ball for you.

Thank you/

This one's going to be interesting. It seems that we have had a mix-up, such that the claim names the wrong person as the other driver. So now, there will be hoop jumping. *sigh*.

Glad your wife is okay. Sounds like an error at the traffic cop level. (Might have been a permissive user.) If you need any help navigating the insurance maze, I'm an adjuster. Happy to help if I can.
