Whereas I hope for some nice templates, that can achieve that, because with templates, it's easier to upgrade than downgrade!Falling Icicle said:[Edit] Oh, and I would have preferred if he was a Solo monster.
Cheers, LT.

Falling Icicle said:I like the new Pit Fiend with one exception - his weapon attack is treated as fire damage. That's just ludicrous. Adding fire damage to it is one thing, but why is the base weapon damage treated as fire? I really, really hope this isn't how they're doing flaming, shocking, etc. weapons...
[Edit] Oh, and I would have preferred if he was a Solo monster.
Given the Lawful bent of devils (even if Law doesn't have any in-game meaning in 4e), I don't think devils should generally be solo monsters. They're supposed to be based around teamwork, and a solo monster with teamwork abilities kinda misses the point.Falling Icicle said:[Edit] Oh, and I would have preferred if he was a Solo monster.
catsclaw227 said:Also, keep in mind that there won't just be this one Pit Fiend. Being Elites, there will be more like 2 Pit Fiends, which then adds in 2 war devils (22nd level) and 8 legion devil legionnaires (21st level)
That means 12 baddies in the encounter.
The pictures we've seen of the MM shows that each monster type generally comes with a small number of typical encounters using that monster. For example, the gnoll page lists three encounters:(Psi)SeveredHead said:I hope WotC comes up with a sample pit fiend group. Hopefully with only about five or six monsters. (All his buddies could be 26th-level but weaker than elite. I figure.)

Very true. Though the encounter can grow quickly once servitor devils start getting summoned!DandD said:It doesn't have to be two Pit Fiends. I actually rather believe that the Pit Fiend to be accompanied by some other demon consort, like for example a horned devil as his faithul second-in-command
And subsequently rush to their screaming burning doom.catsclaw227 said:Very true. Though the encounter can grow quickly once servitor devils start getting summoned!
