There's a new Design & Development article up by Heinsoo, on the warlock. I was reading through it with some interest until I read this:

"send enemy directly to hell for a round"

4E design team, will you marry me?

Seriously bad ass---I approve!

I can totally see an orc *poof* way with a whiff of brimstone, only to pop back a few seconds later, eyes as wide as saucers, white streaks through his mane, and slightly singed.

I also love the bit where Warlock summons just the biting mouths of dimensional horrors.

Neat stuff, but I'd sell the warlock's soul to have the druid in the PHB instead.
Yeah, that was disappointing to hear. But if it was either/or, I'd dump the warlord for the druid and keep the warlock.

Because watching an enemy get masticated by a gaping interdimensional maw just makes good sense, you know?

Versus getting masticated by an enraged dire wolf? I dunno, it's a tough trade.

The "send your opponent to hell for a round" is definitely a cool concept, though.

I've been pretty solidly "meh" about 4th ed this whole time. Let me go on record as saying, "This is the first time I'm actually looking forward to this edition," now.

"movement powers (teleport and turn invisible, anyone?) " --> Nightcrawler, here I come.
