D&D 4E The 4E warlock -- love at first glimpse

Neat stuff, but I'd sell the warlock's soul to have the druid in the PHB instead.

Grognard!!! Snicker, snicker! Just kidding! The Druid just doesnt have enough shiny for the kids today. Now the Warlock, WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Shiny

3.5 Warlock/Binder/Hexblade = 4E warlock :]

it'll be interesting to see if there are role-play problems with having a warlock and a paladin in the party at the same time.

The Druid has plenty of shiny. It also has plenty of game hogging anti-fun---unless you enjoy waiting around while the druid takes three turns for every one of yours.

And kids aren't the only ones who think the warlock is intriguing.

I got that vibe as well, and I love it. Not that those classes couldn't stand on their own in 3.5. (Two of them could. :) )

Any speculation on the three types of patrons?

edit - Just saw the other *much larger* thread :uhoh: Guess there has been quite a bit of speculation already.

Trust me MY current Character is Clyde THE Druid. He is a blast to play! ;) And the 3.5 Warlock is one of my favorite classes in 3.5. May cannot come soon enough! :]

My first 4E character is going to be a Teifling Warlock! :]

Infernal, Fey and Spirit? Infernal is pretty obvious, feral wouuld be fey, and shadowy would be someone from the shadowfell, spirits is my guess.

Yeah, that was disappointing to hear. But if it was either/or, I'd dump the warlord for the druid and keep the warlock.

Because watching an enemy get masticated by a gaping interdimensional maw just makes good sense, you know?

Sounds like it is a sure thing that the druid won't be in the first PHB - has this been confirmed?

Warlock: "Arioch! Arioch! Blood and souls for my lord Arioch!!"

Hasn't a designer mentioned, that he's a Blue Öyster-fan, and said something about Moorcook? Now I see, where he has left his marks. And considering that I like the Elric novels very much, I certainly don't mind getting a Elricfied Warlock in 4E!

And I don't miss the druid (as spellcaster). He should get folded into the cleric. And the shapeshifting class (aka druid) should get this ability folded into the "feral" warlock.

Cheers, LT.
