Arkanyl traves to this Alternate Eath. And decides that he shall explore the Faerie Realms, see if he can find any of his Sidhe kin, doubtless corrupted by the Red Death, but worth looking for.

Edena, does the red death affect magic users? or magic items? what about people using magic items (i.e.- people reading domination books)?

Ardan Turval, President of the Free Nations

OOC: Edena, I accept the offer to run the Free Nations of Faerun. I go away, and a lot has happened. Not that I mind.

Uvenelei, good to see you. I wish you could participate. Edena, do you want to start a recruiting thread. Maybe we can both e-mail people from the past IRs. (I am here to help.)

Also, please make a link in your first post to the Maps and Other Campaign Resources site. I will come up with a sig and post it there for everyone's convenience.

(If creamsteak sent Pasteur to me, I will assume it is Pasteur. If not, another scientist.))

Ardan Turval, dressed elegantly in a black and silver shirt, and black pants, listens to Louis Pasteur, representative of the Silver Cabal.

"Kind sir, I am fascinated by this talk of your world. I would greatly like to learn more of it, your technology, history, faiths, and philosophies. It seems that the Silver Cabal, and yourself, have done much good for Earth. "

"From what I understand, Edward Jenner, if I have the name right," Ardan says, trying to pronounce the name of this English predecessor of Pasteur. "used cowpox to create a vaccine for smallpox."

"While I am new to your techniques, I have some ideas. Might it not be possible to create a vaccine for the plague using a similar, but weaker illness. Perhaps it might even be possible to develop a cure from such a source of illness. We may be able to strike a blow against this Red Death, that may benefit our worlds and others besides."

"Regardless, the Free Nations of Faerun, appreciate your health. I pray for your well being, your success, and the health and happiness of the peoples of Earth."

Ardan bows before Pasteur as if greeting a king.

Thanks to this treatment by Gustav, Louis Pasteur is first infuriated, then frightened witless, and finally his mind collapses, and he goes insane.

The Silver Cabal WITHDRAWS it's support, and offers of support, from Toril.

Unless someone talks fast (and does some magical healing as well), Louis Pasteur and the Silver Cabal's aid will be lost to Toril.

Arkanyl finds the Faerie of Earth, all right.
Or rather, they find him.

What Arkanyl witnesses, and what the Corrupted Sidhe of Earth force him to experience, will haunt him to the end of his days.
Arkanyl escapes the Corrupted Sidhe, but he is forced to flee Earth.

During his travail, Arkanyl is allowed to witness the Red Death in it's full unholy glory ... the Sidhe see to this with fervent pleasure.
Arkanyl has the ghastly pleasure of witnessing this monster in it's full power, it's fully frightful strength and aura, it's pure evil, it's hellish appearance.
Arkanyl cannot translate what he has just seen to anyone else ... there are some things that simply cannot be related.
Not that Arkanyl, particularly wants to. Arkanyl, wants to forget what he saw ... would give a lot to forget what he saw. (A restoration spell will repair the mental damage to Arkanyl, but not the horrible memory.)

Arkanyl, now understands the full menace of the Red Death, understands just what this being means for Toril and Toril's future, understands now what the consequences of not stopping this monster truly are.

/me is now taking bets on how long before the red death makes him evil and/or insane. Post your bets please. (Edena sorry since you are the moderator I'm not betting with you and since Creamsteak is a Moderator and can edit the post to whatever he likes, I'm not betting with him either!) ;P :D

TO MR. DRACO

Nobody knows for sure, Mr. Draco.
All even Louis Pasteur knows for certain is that the Red Death corrupts anyone who dares to use magic.
A very few mages have escaped this corruption by the Red Death, through the ages of Earth. How they did so, is a mystery to Louis Pasteur.

His mind shattered by the experience of seeing the Red Death in all its glory, Arkanyl begins work on a great magic, a magic to steal the divinity of the gods, plagueridden fools that they are and pass it on to the glorious red death.
