The Kickstarter for The Amethyst Dragon's Hoard of Everything, my D&D 5e-compatible, 575-page supplement for players and DMs, launched on Monday, August 5. It runs until September 4.

For a look into some of the content that is contained in this collection of 1,700+ creations, you can check out the 36-page preview (taken directly from the book) and the 600+ free homebrews on my list of content (anything made before Dec 1, 2023 is in the book).

Money raised will be used to order a print run of hardcover books. If the campaign does really well, I'll be able to offer proper wholesale pricing to Friendly Local Game Stores.

There is also a digital (pdf) version of the finished book available for those who want options.

Feel free to ask me anything about it. I'll be checking the project comments frequently over the next 30 or so days, and will respond to replies here as soon as I get a chance.

The Kickstarter campaign for The Amethyst Dragon's Hoard of Everything is in full swing. It's reached more than 60% of its funding goal so far, so it is well on its way to getting the hardcover book printed so that it can end up in your hands.

If you want to get the book for yourself (as a treat), or for your group, or for a friend or family member of yours who likes D&D, now's the time to pledge your support.

For those who haven't used Kickstarter before, it's a crowdfunding platform that raises money so creative people can accomplish their goals without already having money ahead of time or without taking out loans. In return, backers of a project can get some sort of reward (with tabletop games and RPGs, this reward is typically the finished product). Backers do not give money up front, as their credit cards are charged only at the end of the campaign and only if the funding goal is reached.

For the campaign for The Amethyst Dragon's Hoard of Everything, backers can get the finished hardcover book, a digital PDF version of the book, or both (at a discount). They can also choose to get their name or the names of their gaming group (or their adventuring party members) included within the book itself.

The Kickstarter campaign for The Amethyst Dragon's Hoard of Everything has passed its first stretch goal, so 4 more pages of gaming content will be added to it (more metals, minerals, and other materials).

The funding campaign ends September 4, so now is a great time to pledge, so you can get yourself the hardcover resource, the digital version, or both. You can also pick up a copy as a gift or someone else, get your name added to the book, or add your gaming group's names (or their adventuring party's names) to the finished pages.

There are three more stretch goals possible:

• The next adds 4 more pages of unique, nonmagical treasures, for DMs to drop into their games for use in black markets, treasure hoards, museums, nobles' collections, or even as plot hooks.
• The following goal adds 4 more pages of plants and fungi to bring more life to your game worlds.
• The (current) final stretch goal adds 4 more pages of ways for you to make things more challenging and interesting for PCs. For a peek at this type of material, there's an except, called Volcanoes: More Than Just Liquid Hot Magma, posted over at Geek Native.

The campaign is funded, so the book will get printed and sent to all the backers in early 2025.

Writing is about to begin on the four pages of additonal content from the 1st stretch goal. The 2nd stretch goal is less than $1,000 away, which means another 4 additional pages of game material (which would bring the total page count up to 583).

This book, now at 583 pages of content (thanks to hitting the first two stretch goals), will get sent to all the backers (and interested Friendly Local Game Stores) in early 2025. I've put March as the delivery month, but if everything goes smoothly with prep and printing it could be a month or more before that.

If you want another 4 pages of game content, the next stretch goal is currently less than $2k away, so sending others to the Kickstarter page is definitely appreciated by this 3rd party/independent creator.

The Kickstarter for The Amethyst Dragon's Hoad of Everything ended successfully on Wednesday, passing it's 3rd stretch goal along the way (so I'm adding 12 pages to the book, bringing it up to 587 pages).

If you missed out and still want to get your own copy, you can make a late pledge (a thing Kickstarter implemented recently). I'll keep late pledges available until just before I send the book off to the print company.

For the next couple of weeks, you will still be able to make a late pledge if you missed out on the active Kickstarter campaign for The Amethyst Dragon's Hoard of Everything.

Both versions of the book (hardcover and pdf) will go out to backers at the same time, in early 2025. I set March as the delivery month, but if things continue to go well, the book could be in your hands (or on the shelf of your Friendly Local Game Store) a month or more before that.

The 12 additional pages of content have been written and added to the book. All that remains for me to do before closing out late pledges and sending this off to the printing company is for me to finish a few dozen or so illustrations for the final two chapters, and to add in the names for those who chose to get their name or their gaming group/adventuring party names in print.
