The Angelfire Mini I really really want

The mini I want is all of them ;-)

A favourite? Hard to say. The doom dragon looks nice (the Copper's colouration reminds me of the Doom logo: red/orange fading into blue). The Direguard looks great for a common, too. There are few minis I don't like at all.

I'm going to get three cases this time, and hope that this will cover all but a couple of rares.

Who can resist the cuddly axe-wielding Werebear?

If you buy a case, and assuming normal distribution, you will get a werebear. If you buy booster-by-booster, it may take longer.

I opened my cases one at a time. Each case yielded the following:
12 different rares, no dupes.
Either 1 or 2 each of every uncommon.
Exactly 4 each of every common.

When I was looking at the WotC gallery, I was at first surprised how few of the Angelfire minis there were that interested me. But then when I scrolled down to the bottom third of the page, there were a bunch so it's not a total writeoff for me.

edit: after taking a harder look at the page, I counted 7 minis that I really want, 9 minis that I would like to have, and 9 that I wouldn't mind having if the price was right (but that I could do without). So out of the set, there's only really 7-16 minis that I'm excited about.

Now, if they had the rest of the draconians...

LOL. I think it looks pretty cheesy actually. It looks like a big teddy bear - not scary at all!

Generally, big teddy bears I know do not wield large double headed battle axes.

I'm hoping to get a Trumpet Archon, myself, although I can't imagine I would ever have a use for it in my game.

There is a trumpet archon in the 3.0 adventure Lord of the Iron Fortress, along with many Steel Predators. Since I am currently running this adventure, Angelfire seems timely.

You know, this is the first set that won't take a huge bite out of my pocketbook, and of the minis I've seen, only the large air elemental, the village priest, and the efreet jump out at me.

I really like the large figures, except for the air elemental, which looks like an ice column... The trolls are great, but why does their nose have to dangle in their mouth?

The figures I could have done without are the 5 dwarf mercenaries and 4 dwarf raiders, and the kobold warriors that look almost exactly like Meepo... The imp and the vargouille are really cool. I'm also glad about the skeletal archers.

Eh - wait until you see one in person. It's far more impressive, IMO!

My wife opened the very first box I got, and pulled the copper dragon. I was happy, to say the least! I was also really impressed by the Ogre Mage - great sculpt. Now, to get the Mounted Paladin...
