It’s been a while, Roundup fans, but worry not, the PAIZO NEWS ROUNDUP is back and chock-full of news from the Golem and all your favorite games! We got more updates for the War for the Crown Adventure Path, and more books for the discerning Dungeon Master. Let’s get started!

War for the Crown! Intrigue and adventure abound in the current Pathfinder Adventure Path, which follows characters protecting Princess Eutropia of Taldor as her country devolves into civil war and the shadows are filled with hungry blades. Players that really enjoy digging into the political machinations and social combat present in Taldor will be happy to see the War for the Crown Player’s Guide, a special supplement designed to take your War for the Crown to the next level. Not only does it feature extra options for noble-born characters, it also includes a simplified version of the social combat rules from Ultimate Intrigue. Princess Eutropia also receives a fully-fleshed-out NPC statblock so that players can get a baseline for their relationships with her and GMs can tweak to suit their own campaign. GMs will also be delighted to find a detailed map of Taldor waiting within these pages! I love seeing new maps, so I’m excited.

Speaking of War for the Crown, volumes two and three are here or will be soon! Pathfinder Adventure Path #128: Siren, Songbird, Saboteur is the second volume of the War for the Crown Adventure Path, and sees the characters traveling to Princess Eutropia’s ancestral homeland of Meratt. The evil Count Lotheed is corrupting the people and the land, and can only be ousted from within. Players can find several new toys in this Adventure Path, including a system for building a cult of personality for characters who like the idea of fans (or cultists) doing their dirty work, or magic items called relics that are empowered as their wielders reshape history and fulfill their purpose. Once again GMs are spoiled with a gazetteer on Meratt, so they can bring the country to life in all its crumbling glory.

Volume three of the War for the Crown Adventure Path is due any day now! Pathfinder Adventure Path #129: The Twilight Child will take adventurers to Yanmass, where they find Princess Eutropia butting heads with the local nobles for support in the brewing civil war. Can your characters solve the mysteries of the missing soldiers, the nightmare plague, or the Twilight Child? Is this all coincidence, or is something more sinister and conspiratorial afoot?! THERE’S ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT! And do keep an eye out for the bloodplate bursters, they do tend to leave large stains on the rug as they explode out of…well, I’m sure you can imagine.

Finally, we have a new exciting development for the hardcore fans of Golarion out there: devotees of Zon-Kuthon is finally getting its own campaign setting! That’s right, coming this month we’ll see the Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Nidal, Land of Shadows! Included will be a detailed description of Nidal’s history, including the ancient madness that drove its leaders to pledge their people into the service of the god of envy and pain. New adventure sites teem with possibility in this malevolent land, and a bestiary of cruel creatures awaits your suffering…
And that’s it for the PAIZO NEWS ROUNDUP! Stay tuned to this space for more news and updates from the Golem, whether they be for Pathfinder or Starfinder! As your final thought for the day: how many variants of the kyton do you think we’ll see in Nidal? My money’s on four.
