I was shocked to see this being as a CR 17 in Monster Manual 2.
i was converting an older adventure. there it has 7hd. Now it has 26d12 hp..
I was floored.(literally)
Has any else found a creature that has been updated to uber levels?

Yup . . .

The Famine Spirit.

In 2e Dark Sun it was called a Fael. It was @6HD in 2e and it balooned to @ 32HD in MMII.

True, true... the need for stronger monsters at higher levels is pretty pronounced in 3e (back in earlier editions, your HD maxed out at around 9-11 for a pc, so it wasn't so pronounced).

And Black Slaadi. In second they were in rank beneath the deathslaadi. Now they are top knotch only second in power to the great Slaad Lords.

A decent Black slaad with some levels as any creature of that power has kicks abberition ass... (especially since it's damage although just D4's lingers baaaaadddd and neglects all DR SR and PR)

Some switch around...

If you need the old Banshee check the Tome of Horrors....it is in there but not called banshee.......it is the Groaning Spirit ..I believe.
