The Complete series also gave us cool stuff like the warlock, the scout, reserve feats, divine metamagic, sudden metamagic, skill tricks, lots of cool spells, etc.

It think it might come down to the above. I didn't like most of the stuff you mentioned including the warlock and scout. Reserved feats, imo, were an interesting idea, but I didn't like most of them mechanically ( I really would like to see Ari's original rules on the subject), and most spells I didn't think were cool (Complete Arcane being the exception, but most of the spells that I liked were orignially from Tome & Blood) and are disallowed in the games I run .

Oh, and I agree with you about S&S.

I passed on most of the 3.0 stuff, sinceI didn't actually start buying 3.x supplements until after 3.0 came out.

But ... I can say that I enjoyed most of the complete series prior (and not including) Scoundrel. [I am oneof the nay votes to CPsi, though! And I love psionics ... :( ] I loved the new classes (All of 'em) and while it took a while Reserve feats have finally grown on me.

EDIT: To the OP ...

Could you put something like "1 of X" or "2 of X" (With X being the total number of similar polls you intend on doing in this series) in the title of the polls? I know that you've said that you are making multiple polls, and that would make it easier to track for me and others like me who are interested in these polls.

With 50 votes,

The most liked are:

Player's Handbook II I LIKED 72.00%
Complete Warrior I LIKED 62.00%
Complete Arcane I LIKED 62.00%
Complete Mage I LIKED 50.00%
Complete Adventurer I LIKED 48.00%
Tome and Blood: A Guidebook to ...44.00%
Savage Species I LIKED 38.00%
Complete Scoundrel I LIKED 38.00%
Sword and Fist: A Guidebook ...I LIKED 36.00%
Complete Divine I LIKED 36.00%

Only real surprise are the two splatbooks that managed to make it in (though I guess one poster did say they liked those more...)

And the least popular

Races of Destiny I did NOT LIKE 58.00%
Hero Builder's Guidebook I did NOT LIKE 48.00%
Defenders of the Faith: A Guidebook to ... 44.00%
Complete Divine I did NOT LIKE 42.00%
Complete Psionic I did NOT LIKE 42.00%
Races of the Wild I did NOT LIKE 40.00%
Races of the Dragon I did NOT LIKE 40.00%
Planar Handbook I did NOT LIKE 36.00%
Song and Silence: A Guidebook to Bards and Rogues I did NOT LIKE 34.00%
Races of Stone I did NOT LIKE 34.00%

Giving Complete Divine the dubious distinction of being on both the most liked and least liked lists in the early voting.

Even though I finally got some use out of it, Complete Psion still gets my vote for the worst 3E supplement EVER. I have to admit, though, this is partly because my expectations were so high. I still get angry over all that wasted potential...

Apart from that most of the Complete Series contained something I liked. My favorites are Complete Warrior, Adventurer and Champion followed by Complete Mage. Please note, that this is from a DM's perspective.

I liked Races of Stone better than I expected after shunning it for a loooong time. But the others seem to be really pretty uninspired.
As was mentioned in another thread on this board this is probably because without being setting-specific there isn't much you can do in a Races book.

PHB2 is easily the best of this bunch - as the poll seems to confirm.

Arnwyn: your welcome.

Couple of observations: What is easy to splat, at least for WotC: arcane spellcasters. Divine casters and races they seemed to have a harder time with.
