Greetings all,
Cabin in the Woods comes to Blue-ray on Sept 18th and I am planning to have a viewing at my home. Before the viewing, I was thinking of hosting a one-shot game based in the universe of the movie. I would be creating the 5 archetypal characters needed for the play beforehand for 5 players. Those attending the viewing that have seen the movie will actually be the GM's for the game, acting as the behind-the-scenes scientists, manipulating the world and taking bets on which monster will be released on the young adult characters.
What I need help with is, what would be a good system to run this type of game with? Something that enhances the horror and fear element while being simple to understand for new players (not to be confused with new gamers) and adaptable to the world. Any suggestions?
