The Captain's Caper! (Dunamin judging)

Brudd scratches his head,

"What, err, fresh blood. I don't mind givin' u blood, but sounds like we'll be needin' te wait fer an enemy. Unless anyone's got sommat left from the stirges?"

"Yeah, what exactly are you doing, Girth? Making a gift to your Lady?" Hrav asks.

"In any case, the way this job's going, soon enough winged sharks or somethin' like that will fly over this here rail and you'll have all the 'blood spilled by an enemy' you could want." Hrav then adds, muttering, "I'm starting to sound like Brudd..."

Girth bobs his head awkwardly. "For your offers of blood I thanks give. But a little fresher it needs to be. And best it is from an enemy slain or wounded. You see?"

He turns to Hrav and walks over, standing uncomfortably close.

"You ask. I tell. I make the auspice for well being of our journey. The signs of power, the dust from the dwarf, the piss from my body, the blood of an enemy. All must be together gathered and a bird sacrificed. This will show whether our mission augurs well or not. You understand?"

"Oh, er, yeah," Hrav replies. "Sure, when you put it that way... Makes perfect sense, alright..."

Hrav then gives a long look over to Brudd, Quagmire and Alex, with a twitch of his ears.

The Bloody Wake and its crew make dock at the settlement nearest the Grey Henge. Many dragonborn are visible who have obviously come through the henge from their homeland in the Empire of Jade. Once more the Captain and his landing party sally forth, this time in search of the dragonborn Arjhaan.

Within an hour, you manage to find her near the Grey Henge itself as the dwarf had promised. She wears the strange robes from her homeland which they call keikogi while studying a book filled with arcane writings. When Azrael tries to speak with her, she snaps a "Shhh!" at him while holding up her hand with one digit pointing skyward, seemingly demanding just a moment of time. And just like that, she snaps the book closed and turns to the Captain to speak with a gutteral female voice "Who are you and why are you interrupting my research?"

With his hands on his hips, Azrael looks about to lose his patience. "Lady, I been dragged frum one lousy distraction ta another an' I got no time left fer a snapmouthed, book-learnin', busybody. Thorendin wants tha sword ya owes him an' I want it now so I can take it to him an' be on me way. So why dont'cha go get it and we'll all be the happier."

Arjhann looks taken aback at the Captain's veiled threats and not so veiled insults. Her eyes narrow in thought as she looks from the Captain to the landing party and back again. "Fine." she says simply while standing up. She tucks the book under her arm and walks quickly towards a nearby tent. "I'll be right back out." she says as she dissapears behind the flap of the tent. You hear some rummaging around and the clank of wood and metal objects banging together. After a minute, she walks back out with a large bag strapped to her back. Sticking out of the top of the bag are a couple shovels. With one wide strap across her chest, she carries the nearly 6 foot long bag with ease though it looks stuffed full of other items as well. She looks around to the gathered Captain and crew and says, "Well, lets go dig it up then and get you boys your sword. My map here shows right where it is. Which way is your ship?"

The Captain scowls, but seems to realize that arguing will only delay the time when he can get his cargo back. Holding out one arm in the direction of the ship, he does a sarcastic bow before turning and walking in front of the dragonborn woman, dropping curses in his wake like a sinking ship drops rats.

[sblock=OOC]Alrighty then, that's about enough delays, yes? Now we can get back into the action non stop and just ride the wave of violence through to the end! Weeee! Sorry for the necessary story lulls to set everything up, but it will be worth it in the end I hope you agree. And I've loved the dialogue and fleshing out of the characters so far in the 'talky parts'. More and more makes me think about doing up a sequel for this group. I guess I'll ask officially: who would or wouldn't be interested in sticking together for a sequel? I know many of you have already given me some great little idea tidbits just from your PC's actions and talking.[/sblock]

"Pfaugh!" cries Quagmire, springing backwards and nearly tripping over a coil of rope. "Clean yerself, man! Ye smell like a baby kobold!"
