The Captain's Caper! (Dunamin judging)

Arjhaan steps into the now bloody clearing and navigates through the field of scorpion corpses to the large rock. She carries the large bag of shovels and stuff strapped on her back still." Good job, everyone. The chest I need should be under here. Maybe one of you strong men could move it aside for us?"

OOC: Anybody can make a Strength check to move aside the rock.

OOC: J11 would let Hrav and Brudd flank S6 diagonally. Either way, S6 is dead, and S4 is about to die, so it'll all work out.
Hmmm, the map I'm looking at has Brudd at F9, the scorpion (S6) at G10, so diagonal flanking with Brudd would require being at H11. J11 would be 10 feet south of that and not in melee range of S6. But the battle's over so I won't nitpick.

Good job everyone! That battle was worth 120 XP each which I'll add in to the total to post later.

Heh, I'll try Says Alexander, sheating the sword and partially unstrapping the shield...
But while pushing, Alexander foot slides on a bit of moss, and the stone doesn't move an inch...

[sblock=ooc] Strenght check: 5
Alexander'll gladly spend a healing surge with Brudd's healing word:8+5[/sblock]

Quagmire lounges against a nearby tree while the other shove against the rock, picking his teeth with a bit of scorpion stinger, carefully wiped clean of poison on the sand. After a moment, he saunters over to Arjhaan.

"Well, no surprises so far, I'll grant ye that. So how'd ye come to owe a buried sword to a dwarf, anyway? I bet that's an int'restin' story."

The large rock is rolled aside and after a little digging a small chest is pulled out of the hole. The chest is about a foot wide and around nine inches tall and across. There is a hefty padlock on the front of it sealing it closed. "I don't suppose one of you would be able to open that lock without destroying the whole thing?" she asks.

"As for the sword, it was more of a trade. He gets the sword, and I get magical rituals and resaerch materials." she says in answer to Quagmire.

"Well, I hope fer yer sake ye got paid in advance," Quagmire answers, before turning his attention to the chest. "Well, that's a wee bit of an obstacle. But I can't say as I'm too worried. If one of these lads can't get it open, I'm sure we can find a chisel somewhere. Or an axe. Whatever."

Brudd shrugs,

"I've always been more of a smash and grab type, bein' about as dexterous as a shovel. Anyone able te make with the fiddly?"
